Right now you have two choices.  You can panick like chicken little with the sky is falling mentality.  Or you can play and fiddle around like the grasshoper.   Global warming will come and go just like the politicians and mother nature will balance it all out one way or another.  A more disturbing phenomenom to watch is the increase in the birth vs death rate so we have a super fast growing population and how will we get water, food, shelter and the other basic necessities for a growing population.

you know, everyone likes to complain how bad the weather is and how awful all the flooding is etc., but when it comes time to identifying ways to lessen the probability of these storms/disasters, no one seems to want to do it....how ironic

I personnaly think global warming is a lie and a complete marketing scheme to get people to buy ecofriendly items. The earth's climate naturally changes look at history. We've had an ice age and returned to this climate. The climate has always changed and it is definetely not because of man. If man has an effect on Earth's climate it is very slight and not nearly what the media is making it out to be.

Google is your friend. You can find me there. Can I find you there?

At one point, there was global warming. Then, years after global warming was "discovered," scientists noticed a global cooling for years. So, the term was changed to global climate change. I wonder if there's a conspiracy to get people to buy certain products that are more expensive. I believe that we should take care of our earth the best we can. I'm not so sure the light bulbs that have mercury and must be thrown into hazardous waste instead of regular garbage cans are the answer. yes, they use less electricity, but does it  really help the environment in the long run?

I believe that the earth goes through cycles much like the seasons,on a larger scale. It is true that man is contributing to the degrade of the earth and it's resources. It does help if we all try to reduce pollution and waste as well as use the earth's resources more wisely. But keep in mind, that everything is always in a stage of change.
Man is trying to keep the earth in an unchanging state and I believe this is a futile battle. For example, the continents were once all connected an now there are many seperate continents. This also applies to receeding shorelines in some areas. Proof of this is currently existing deserts that were once seas. Global warming is just a stage in the earth's cycles. That's my 2 cents worth anyway   :dog:

To show my age a bit, when I was young the rage was "global cooling and the coming ice age" (actually some are already warning of this again).  Some of the same scientists today are also among those that warned of the global cooling.  Granted global cooling is much more serious an issue than global warming but how am I to take these people seriously.  The one thing we do absolutely know about the weather is that it changes and often cycles.

I don't see any convincing evidence of man made global warming and all the actions of the leading advocates of such do not pass the smell test.  If Gore believed what he was selling then why did he buy expensive property in areas he had already claimed would be flooded in a few years after he purchased them?  Carbon credits and greenhouse gases when they cannot prove that co2 precedes warming and have only been ever able to prove it followed it.  Even if you took everything they said as truth you are left with the undeniable conclusion that it is already way to late and there is nothing we could do about it.  Add it all up and it sounds funny to me.
There are only 10 types of people in the world:  those who understand binary, and those who don't.
