Does anyone have any good cookie recipes. I know how to make butter cookies and thats it.

If you use the peanut butter cookie recipe found on the crisco sticks-
You will need a mini muffin pan.
You take that recipe- place your cookie mix in the mini muffin pan (about 3/4 full) then you take the mini reese's cups. place one in each mini muffin pan (you have to squish it down a bit) let them sit in there for like 3-4 min. then remove them (I use a butter knife) Those are some of the BEST cookies I have EVER had! Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks, 1/2 pound) butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs

2 cups (12-ounce package) NESTLE TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

1 cup chopped nuts

COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

BAKE in preheated 375-degree [Fahrenheit] oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

PAN COOKIE VARIATION: PREPARE dough as above. Spread into greased 15"x10" jelly-roll pan. Bake in preheated 375-degree [Fahrenheit] oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack.

FOR HIGH ALTITUDE BAKING (>5,200 feet): INCREASE flour to 2 1/2 cups; add 2 teaspoonfuls water with flour; reduce both granulated sugar and brown sugar to 2/3 cup each. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit, drop cookies for 8 to 10 minutes and pan cookies for 17 to 19 minutes.

with the toll house cookie recipe I suggest this tip for the best ones each time - replace half the butter with shortening - use those crisco shortening sticks for easy measuring - if the recipe calls for two sticks butter - use one stick butter; and the equivalent in shortening.  By doing this your cookies won't burn - unless you leave them in the oven forever! - and come out perfect each time - instead of flat and brown around the edges.  The older recipes for toll house cookies might have used shortening, I think - way back in the day - I forget - but any way this was a trick I learned a couple decades ago and my toll house cookies always come out great!

I learned this trick from my mother, decades ago!

Here's one thats been in my family for a long long time.  

Mackie's Cracked Cookies

2-Sticks of oleo (Butter)
1-1/4c.  Sugar
3-Egg Yolks
1-Teaspoon Vanilla
2-1/2c.  Flour
1-Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Cream of tarter
1-Teaspoon Lemon
1-Teaspoon Coconut or Almond

Beat butter, sugar, egg yolks & vanilla, lemon, coconut or almond. Sift together flour, soda, & Cream of tarter and add slowly to mixture and mix well.  Roll in real small *bleep*.  Bake at 300 to 325 for 11-15 minutes.  They should look like they are actually cracked.

I suggest putting them in center rack.  One thing I have found out is cooking cookies on a lower temperature always works better for me I just add an extra 5 minutes usually.  I usually cook peanut butter and choclolate chip cookies at 300 degrees they come out chewy.

Second one if you like the taste of bread pudding then try these cookies.  I was making a cobbler with a crumble topping but my cruble didn't crumble I made this taste by mistake!!  Sooo Good!! 

BP Cookies!!

2-1/2c. Flour
1-1/2c. Packed Brown Sugar (Light or Dark)
1-1/2-Teaspoons of Baking Soda & Same amount of Baking Powder
1/2-Stick Melted Butter
1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
1-Tablespoon Nutmeg
1-Teaspoon Vanilla
1/4-Teaspoon Pure Almond Extract-(Optional)
1-Teaspoon Pure Lemon Extract<This is what gave it the taste that everyone says is like bread pudding
1/4 c. Oil-Add This slowely  may not need all of this Have to judge it.


Mix all this together.  You want it to be same consistency of cookies.  You can spoon out like cookies or poor into ban and bake that way.  Bake on 350 for12-18 minutes.  Use  toothpick to check if done in center.

Lemon Almond Macaroons

Ingredients

    * 1 14-ounce package sweetened shredded coconut
    * 1 cup sliced almonds
    * 3/4 cup sugar
    * 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
    * 1/4 teaspoon salt
    * 4 large egg whites

Directions

   1. Heat oven to 325° F. In a large bowl, combine the coconut, almonds, sugar, lemon zest, and salt. Mix in the egg whites.
   2. Drop mounds of the mixture (each equal to 2 tablespoons) onto 2 parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them 1½ inches apart.
   3. Bake, switching the baking sheets halfway through, until the edges begin to brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Cool slightly on baking sheets, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
   4. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

I am so glad you have this receipe I had one that was very similar to this one lost it with Hurricane Katrina.  My mom had it and she lost everything in her house.  Thanks again tigerlilly01  :thumbsup:

omg all these cookie recipes sound wonderful and not only that are different than anything I have recipes for or ever have tried.  I will definetly try these and know they will be awesome!  Does anyone have a recipe for coconut cream cookies?  Used to be able to buy these awesome melt in your mouth sandwich cookies that were coconut and they were so good and a million years ago girl scouts had a similar cookie but I guess lots of folks aren't into coconut like I am - although I was pleasantly surprised to see almost all of your cookie recipes submitted had coconut flavoring or actual coconut.  Man I am starting to crave warm cookies fresh out of the oven.

Luckily, I have a microwave :D

Think I'll try some of these out later - maybe even for desert tonight! Especially the BP cookies, they sound easy and flavorful!
