I have a dishwasher,  But with the few dishes that i do by hand, I rinse them all at the same time so as to not waste too much water

I hate that sound. The sound of the water running when no one is using it. It's like hearing my money go down the drain. It makes me want to scream. It's so annoying. I think it's the waste that gets to me. Stop the waste!

only if I'm doing an assembly line of dishes right after the other, but other than that no. I don't like to waste water/energy.

I leave it on but only because I rinse them off, it's not on for very long. I turn the water off when I do other things like brushing my teeth, etc...

I leave the water on only when rinsing off the dishes, otherwise I leave the water off.

No, I never leave the water running.  Do you know how much money you will be losing if you leave the water running?  I suggest you don't do it.

i live in an apartment complex and do not have
a water bill. i wash the dishes with the water running
because our sink is not divided, so soaking them is
just annoying because i have to rinse them off anyway.

we're moving and will have a water bill soon, however.
but we don't have a washer/dryer, so... i'm expecting
the water bill to be fairly cheap.  :dontknow:
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

I leave the water running. I do not pay for water (Well) so it's my water and how long I feel like leaving it run is my business. I leave it running to brush my teeth also. How do you water your lawn if you don't leave the water running?  Wash your hair or take a shower? It would seem redundant if you had a sink of dishes to rinse off to go in the dishwasher to turn the water off and on after each dish. Easier to leave the water running and do each one, then into the dishwasher they go one by one.

If I had a water meter and/or had to pay for water, I may do it differently.
