Browser Question
« on: September 01, 2011, 07:50:58 am »
I receive credit for most surveys I complete, but there are many surveys that I spend a half hour or more completing and never receive credit.  Lately this has occurred when I have completed My Thoughts Count surveys.  I know the advice to clear cache and cookies prior to qualifying for surveys.

I've also noticed that sometimes when I view videos, I need to view them in another browser in order to get credit.   I am wondering if not receiving credit for a survey completed has something to do with the browser I'm using while completing the survey.  Obviously, it's not practical to try and complete the same survey in different browsers like I am able to do with 2 minute videos.

I primarily use Firefox.  Would appreciate others' thoughts.  Thanks in advance.

Yes, I do switch between browsers both IE and FIREFOX to see if a certain offer will credit better. Sometimes  doing that does seem to help a bit, but 99% of the time I use FIREFOX and it seems to work great on almost any offer. Sounds like that you are doing just the right thing.

I usually use firefox most of the time as well. There's only very few offers where i actually can't complete it with firefox, and when that happens i switch over to internet explorer.

I am never eligible for surveys so I can not address survey issues.

But, I have a mac and the browser that comes with it and is most convenient to use is safari.  I often have had a problem getting credit for videos using safari but can later watch the same video using firefox and get credit.  However, sometimes I have not been credited using both safari and firefox.  I then try google chrome and almost always gets credit.

That happened today.  I watched a video this morning using firefox.  I did not get credit.  I tried safari and did not get credit.  I then tried google chrome and got credit.   ;D

The browser very often makes the difference.

Download a FF addon that changes the useragent string so that it thinks your browser is IE, GC, or Safari or whatever.

That's great advice.  I will definitely try that.  Do you know how I can find that addon or what it might be called?
