Not only did I hear about it I felt it.  I'm in Charlotte NC for the next two days for training and me and some coworkers were outside sitting in a concrete ledge during a break.  We were at an old airport terminal and they still have some planes land there.  At first I though man that must be a huge plane to make the ground move like that.

Then a moment later I said that's not a plane that's an earthquake. I've been in several earthquakes before but this was the fist one where I was outside.  One of my coworkers fiance called from Norfolk Va and said they felt it there.  I talked to my mother in Maryland and she said she was in a Goodwill and glass and stuff was falling off the shelves.

I heard about it but, I never felt anything since I'm here in Washington State. I'm also not surprised that it happen because anything can happen at any moment.

A culmination of a lot of stuff going on here in the US. We are definitely seeing more and more happenings like never before. If you believe in the Bible, you will understand what is happening and will continue to happen.

Yes, I heard about it and not only that, my step daughter said they actually felt it in S.C. but thought it was thunder.  Also my husband said there was similar issues in Colorado where there has been no earthquake activity for 40 years.

I live in Chesapeake, VA which is in SE Virginia about 10 miles from NC and it shook the walls in my home for about 10 seconds.  My first thought is that someone was doing major construction nearby like pile driving or jack hammering, but then when I saw the entire wall rocking back and forth it became obvious it was something else.  I ran outside to see if someone had driven their vehicle into any part of my house or the neighbors.  I wasn't really expecting this scenario, but then again I wasn't expecting to feel an earthquake in Virginia.  Interestingly my parents who live close by and about 30 percent of the people I talked to didn't feel or see anything out of the ordinary.  My brother in Mt. Airy, NC about 6 hours away felt it, but somehow it was hit or miss around here.

Had another aftershock yesterday around 1 a.m. Was sitting in my basement and felt the concrete floor literally roll under my feet. Everything shook for 5-7 seconds and then it was over. This morn I looked at the USGS site and sure enough it was a 4.5 aftershock. Guess I should just get used to this stuff happening...  :angry7:

I am in the west where Earthquakes are more common, but I did hear about this when I talking to a client in Philadelphia area. The magnitude is not as high as we're use to, but 40 or so seconds is still a long time.
