Global warming ?!?!
« on: August 15, 2011, 03:35:21 pm »
What does everyone think about global warming. I read an article in the newspaper stating that the polar ice cap is melting and that the northern route is almost melted to where the ice breaker ships can go through north of Canada. That is kind of scarry to me it is almost like reading about being in one of those scifi movies.

I believe the sun is sending us light messages with all these solar storms. People need to raise their spirituality, love the earth, love the Creator and live in light in their hearts. Send the light to everyone. Clean out the crap and ungrade each other. Enter love. And the earth will not have to cough and spit all the pollution as people will be living in love and the earth will be in love also.

I believe that global warming is happening, but not at the rate the economy is crashing. There is a lot more focus on politics they any other major crisis that's going on because of Obama.

Do I believe we as people are completely messing up the environment?  Yes.  There are high levels of mercury in fish, pollution is rampant...  But do I believe that we are causing the globe to warm?  No.  I haven't seen any compelling scientific proof of global warming, and certainly no experiments proving it is happening.  All I have heard are contradictory statements about it - it's a hot/cold summer/winter because of global warming.

I've noticed this for long and in my opinion, actually, we have to face it, sooner or later. There's no thing we can do to stop it. Yet, we can put our effort to make it slower or faster, that's what we can do!

Global warming has nothing to do with your opinion or what you believe. Conclusions about human-caused global warming are based on years of cold, hard scientific study, not your personal feelings. These scientific conclusions have been peer-reviewed and accepted by every scientist who is not in the pocket of the oil companies.

I will agree it has nothing to do with an 'opinion'. However, you stating that "These scientific conclusions have been peer-reviewed and accepted by every scientist who is not in the pocket of the oil companies." is NOT true. Do some research and I guarantee that you will find just the opposite ie very few among the scientific community endorse the idea, period. Most concede it is ludicrous to believe we as humans, even with all the emissions, gasses, etc. are causing a total greenhouse effect that will end the life of this planet. It's NOT the oil companies who benefit from this theory (your remark about being in the pockets of oil companies), but all the nuts writing books, people being paid outrageous sums to 'prove' it, and all the rest of the scaremongers out there like Al(I am an idiot)Gore. I'm not saying we shouldn't respect the Earth and do what we can to leave as small a footprint as possible. I'm saying we need to use some common sense and actually look at who IS reaping the rewards for constantly hyping this 'theory'.
You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.
