I have the $139 Kindle and I like the Whisper Net to deliver the content automatically.

I have a Kindle 3G that I bought from the *bleep* store for 100 bucks, saved 90 dollars. ;D  It works great and you can download books, games, or even surf the internet practically anywhere in the world.  That said I am looking to purchase a Nook in the near future.  It is an incredible advantage to be able to borrow books from the library for free through epub.  There are free books on the Kindle as with any e-reader, but if your looking for books that came less than 50 years ago you will likely be disappointed.  I was excited about the Kindle book lending club when it came out, but I have yet to have a requested book be lent to me from a supposedly nationwide membership base.  The Nook color is what I will be buying as it is like a poor man's Ipad. :P  It is Android based with a 800mhz processor and with ease can surf the internet, play games(Angry Birds), e-mail, or just read books/magazines.  If your just looking for a regular Nook then you won't go wrong there either.  You won't be able to surf the internet on a regular Nook, but that's just a  little perk for the Kindle.
