America the Beautiful
« on: August 07, 2011, 01:34:51 pm »
Greetings!  Is anyone else out there frustrated by what is happening in America?   How can we, as individuals, heal this country, make it the home of the free and brave, one we can be proud of?  We need to join together in a positive way to start the healing process.  Mags

I'm not sure what you mean by "what is happening in America?" Still the best country in the world in my books.

I would say be more active in voting, but we all know that the system is broken, only giving power to a select few.
I say we're heading for another revolution--hopefully a bloodless one--and its something that is needed terribly.

I think the best thing to do right now is to seek God in prayer and ask for his forgiveness as a nation and ask him to lead us and restore us as a nation.

I'm reading a very good book, "The Courage To Be Free," by Charlton Heston. He describes the cultural revolution that has practically destroyed the country, and lists ways to try to turn it around. I highly recommend this book. It might still be the greatest country in the world, but not by much, and not for long. We can't just sit back and say, "America's the best," without working to keep it that way. You can get the book from NRAstore.com or Amazon.

At it's very core, this is still a great country. The only problem is that we've allowed ourselves to be conqured by special interests and "professional politicians" as Obama likes to call them. As a nation we need to get back to liberty and freedom. Today, you can't even be a kid selling lemonade without the feds coming donw on you. A good frist step in restoring America would be to vote for Ron Paul. Seems strange that the one guy advocating true freedom and liberty isn't taken seriously. I think we've come to love our slavery too much in some circles.

Good book.  The US is still the best country in the world, but we're headed for some bad times.  Pray and get involved.

I do agree with Ron Paul in some areas but I agree more with his son Rand Paul, US Senator from KY.

I think Rand Paul is a future president. Either 2016 or 2020.

This might sounds weird, but randomly for no reason, last night I had a dream that America wouldn't exist in like 50 years. Not sure why, but basically the entire country collapsed and was invaded. Weird dream, just thought  I would share after reading this thread

Get outside money out of politics- public funding only.  End the Congress and set up a parliamentary system.

The U.S. is still a great country and I am proud to say I'm American.  However, I'm infuriated with our national policy that is drowning us in debt.  Wars/conflicts in 3 countries, bribing/helping out practically every country in the world, all while dumbfounded as to how to support the people in our own country. :BangHead: :angry7:  We need to stop being the world's police and worry about our own people.  Heck, Mexico is becoming less stable and there is increased violence within it's borders so I wouldn't be surprised if the U.S. attempts to take them over and fix their problems.  We need to run our country like a business and get all the morons out who think that if you don't have the money then you can just print some more. :BangHead:  Obama and all the elitist elected officials are more willing to raise taxes and take away programs from our needy than to take away spending money to countries that hate us.  It's exasperating, but no one is going to change.
