Cultural Dictionary
"The current division of the Bible into chapters, however, and the verse numbers within the chapters, have no basis in any ancient textual tradition. Rather, they are medieval Christian inventions. They were later adopted by many Jews as well, as technical references within the Hebrew text. Such technical references became crucial to medieval rabbis in the historical context of forced debates with Christian clergy (who used the chapter and verse numbers)."
verse definition:
A kind of language made intentionally different from ordinary speech or prose. It usually employs devices such as meter and rhyme, though not always. Free verse, for example, has neither meter nor rhyme. Verse is usually considered a broader category than poetry, with the latter being reserved to mean verse that is serious and genuinely artistic.[/color]
The "bible", (depending on which version that refers to), is not "free verse"; the verse numbers within the chapters, have no basis in any ancient textual tradition. Rather, they are medieval Christian inventions.

It's possible that you do not realize that xtians persecution of non-xtians falls under this definition? Perhaps you do, given your actively engaging in it when your cherished beliefs are questioned.
Generally, those who minds are closed by blind faith are unable to change however, there's always the possibility that some will use their functional eyes to see for themselves, (rather than taking beliefs as a matter of 'faith' alone).
Who has a closed mind??

"I for one, am NOT going to change what I believe because of your posts, so what purpose do they serve?"
We ALL have blind faith in something.
This is a false generalization.
Isn't having the belief that there is no God a blind faith in itself??
No; a _disbelief_ is not a belief. Since you have a penchant for quoting dictionary definitions, look that one up.
I have to say, Falcon, you are annoyingly persistent (see definition above for persecute).
To a limited extent, so are you. The difference is, I'm willing to question preconceptions, empty assertions and baseless opinions. Whereas several of you xtian adherents are demonstrably more interested in avoiding such challenges and going after the challenger instead.
I'm sorry that you choose to be offended because I said I would pray for you. Just as you can choose to frequent whatever thread you want to, I can also choose to pray for whomever I want to.
I suppose that previous comments by other xtians respecting a declining of such doesn't apply. fair enough; the aid of some associates will be obtaine to have them invoke 'the principle of darkness' to 'assist' in your blindness problem. No thanks necessary; glad to help.
