Of course.  Light refractions and black-body absorbtion is more technical than that however, the point about 'appearances'/attributions would be even more subtle had those technicalities diffused it further, ('diffused' is a technical pun here).

The claim is retroactively-presumptive since other cultures previous to xtianity had attributed such to other "god/desses". The xtian "johnny-come-lately" egregore was not an extant belief prior to 2,000-some odd years ago, making this believer's claim retroactively-false.
