He was done as soon as the Patriots got rid of him, his heart was not into playing any more. But he could have worked harder over
the years, and had some better numbers!

We had such high hopes when we first started playing for the Vikes, but I think the money and fame just got to him. I never really seemed like his head was ever in the game (perhaps his first season when he made all sorts of records) and never seemed to improve much. Although  who knows... maybe he'll pull a Farve and be back next year.  :dontknow:

I'll actually be shocked if he's not back at some point this year.  He's probably just disappointed he didn't get the contract and/or situation he thought he was going to get (ie. interest from a playoff contender with a QB he wanted throwing to him).  Some team in the playoff hunt will need a playmaking receiver during the season, due to injury or lack of production.  I'm sure the GMs will be calling his agent and I'm sure he'll be listening.

The truth is, he was in an ideal situation in New England and he ruined it himself.  Based on what he said and did returning to New England with the Vikings makes me think he realized it aftwerwards, too.

I think that he had all of the potential to be one of the best players ever but his gigantic ego got in the way.  He ended up being a loud-mouthed, pot smoking, disrespectful punk who's behavior both on the field and off was disgraceful.  He set precedence for being one of the poorest role models for children, next to Michael Vick, that the league has produced and achieved everything he deserved which was nothing.  I can't say that I am surprised or upset that he is retiring.

I think he's pulling a Brett Favre (No, not taking pictures of his you know what and sending it off--Moss is retiring until training camp is over!)

Who cares????  He's been a thug since he played at Marshall University in Huntington, WV.  I think most of their team comes from the juvenile delinquent school anyway.  Probably retiring because no one wants him on their team.
Have a wonderful day!

He had an amazing amount of talent but as sometimes happens to stars, he became arrogant and decided "it's all about me-me-me."

whoa dude, i think that's a bit of a stretch. he was a thug in college, but not really in the nfl. granted he was lazy and could have an attitude problem frequently. but for the most part he kept his nose clean, didn't break any major rules that i'm aware of, and he wasn't a dirty player. honestly i think his stint with the raiders ruined him, they sucked all the fight out of him by being so inept in every phase of the game.
