gay marriage what do you think?

I am straight but if my gay best friend asked me to do a protest or march for gay rights I would back him 100%. Alot of people have their own opinion about gay marriage. I feel a person should have a right to be with who they choose. I would never discriminate or treat someone different because of their preference.

You seem to have no concept of what a 'self-referential source' is, (an invalid one), which reverses that attempt to swat at reason with unreason.  That 'annoying buzzing' heard is from the bible-thumpers missing the point, not swatting at it and missing as if it were a mosquito.

And i will be kind to give you 1 example.I was brought up as a catholic and i would hope you would even know what a joke Xmas is.The so called xtians at Jesus birth forget to tell you how a mad-crazed king named Herod went on and killed all the 2 yr olds after the astrologists didnt report back to him on where the child was.

With Matt B. coming out and also supporting HIV/Aids...makes you think if the 2 go hand in hand. Im not a hater or basher I just think when they do come out that it doesnt sociate them with this cause it may seem like thats the reason why we have much aids or hiv people. As opposed to your prevading and general ignorance?  How would know whether or not I've read that inconsistant piece of kindling or not?  How would I know it's inconsistant if it wasn't read?  Actually, I've read several different variations of that specious paper-weight however, I don't believe in such faith-based nonsense.  What that means is when some fundie thumper tries using it to proselytize, they get thumped back, (under the auspices of the "golden rule").

I already know and don't apply someone else's religious beliefs to my life.  Fundies such as you however, are wont to proselytize your religious beliefs and I've heard all that irrational faith-based stuff before.  Got anything new?

Sorry to hear that. So was George Carlin but, that didn't prevent him from developing functional critical thinking skills and becoming an atheist.  Though not everyone can break free from the religious shackles that bind them and the faith that blinds them, many poor religious adherents are so 'blinded by the light' that they don't even know they're blind.  A very sad state of affairs, (for them at least).

That little tidbit of bible-thumpage supports a contention at the beginning of this posted reply, (regarding inconsistancies), and if you ran along and looked up what "Lucifer" means as well as 'his' alleged previous 'employment' before xtian P.R. redefined the poor devil as "satan", you'd still miss 'who' was misleading whom.  On the other hand, this is a "gay marriage" off-topic thread, have you already hucked-up the standard fundie xtian 'opinion' or, does that await?

I'm all for it.  As for the people against it being called marriage because the Bible says marriage is between a man and a woman, then perhaps create another word that means the same (in legal terms) but that would appease those who get all annoyed about it being called marriage.  Or tell them to just get over themselves and accept that slavery has ended, woman have rights, and these other prejudices need to go away as well.

You are right we have gotten way off topic here and i take part of the blame for that.The gay issue in this world ties in with God or religeon a lot of times and i guess its easy to get off track.

I would like to say 2 points on my perception why i tell you to read the bible.You mentioned man writing it and i told you its written in Timothy he was inspired by God.And the point on faith where it is dead without works.

Oh BTW....the name Satan means "adversary"mainly started with rebellion in Eden with A&E and how he challenged Jehovahs right to rule over his creation.

I loved Carlin.I remember him blaming God for his creatures dying.Unfortunately he was blind too cos bible answers about death being an enemy and how A&E were warned they would die if they dis-obeyed.And they did and off-spring inherited it.

I also mentioned that it's circular to proclaim that the "bible" says that the "bible" says it was "inspired by g-d".  Circular justifications are illogical.  Illogical 'rationalizations' are specious beliefs.  Specious beliefs consist of blind faith.  Thus endeth the logic lesson for today.

I'm previously aware of that.  If you weren't previously aware that "lucifer" meant "light bringer" and of the inherent irony in that; ponder it.  I've no special desire to split mythological hairs with a fundie however, it wouldn't be fair to a blind-faither to do so.

People should be free to do as the please and seeing as not everyone that is gay uses the bible, it shouldn't be used against them.
