Any soap lovers out there?

I know this is old news but i still can't believe that pretty soon the soaps will be a thing in the past.  I'm a OLTL fan.  I'm not ready so stop watching.  I want to write a letter and get millions to sign so they won't cut them off.  I just don't think it will help.

You know, it's funny. I've never really followed soaps all that much, unless you count Dark Shadows. But I find myself very sad that they're becoming a thing of the past and being replaced by all things, reality shows and talk shows. I guess it's some nostalgia on my part, remembering spending time with grandparents, aunts, and their fascination with soaps. Also, at least soaps are scripted television. Reality shows and talk shows are soooo boring. I don't understand the appeal at all.

Really?  Does the story still go on?  So what you're saying is that we can still watch OLTL but only on the net?

Soap lover? No! Oh, soaps, your subject was so misleading to me at first. Ha ha. I still watch old soaps online every now and then. I wouldn't cry if they're gone but I do watch them.

Man, you don't know what you're missing.  I thought the same thing years ago.  If someone told me that I would be watching soaps years ago I would of told them that they are crazy.  But one day I was really bored, which is very unusual for me, and I was flipping through the stations and I came across OLTL and I was going to change it but I decided to give it a shot and after a few episodes I was hooked.

I haven't heard of such a thing since now when reading this Forum thread. I hope to God that they do not do that. You know there are still stay at home moms who use the hour of the Soaps to take a break for themselves! Lol

I haven't heard of such a thing since now when reading this Forum thread. I hope to God that they do not do that. You know there are still stay at home moms who use the hour of the Soaps to take a break for themselves! Lol 

I'm a stay at home mom but my break is when they're out for the night.  I usually record them then watch at night. I don't want to give that up.  That will ruin my whole schedule.

Lol....you sound like me. Fortunately, I only have a 2 year old baby and he still takes naps in the afternoon. I used to record my shows, but with the converter box, I cannot do that now! But I still watch my movies or shows when my son is sleeping at night.

I am a loyal fan of The Young and the Restless.  I've watching that since I was a young teenager.  I used to watch As the World Turns and The Guiding Light and now they gone.      I also used to watch All My Children and Days of Our Lives when my aunt came to visit or I would spend a month every summer with her.

I must not be because when I saw your question the first thing I thought about was all the great smelling shower soaps I have had over the years.  My favorite was Soft Soap Pink Grapefruit and they don't make it any more.
