Hard times in this economy, are you struggling?
« on: July 15, 2011, 08:45:27 pm »
Hello everyone!  I am just curious if anyone else out there is having a hard time like mysef?  My husbands SSi check is only $641 a month and I had to quit working in Jan 2008 and Still have not been approved for my disability.  I have been fighting for it for 9 years, I have be to doctors who have limited my ability to work in the field I was in and it seems like every where you have to either stand or sit to long.  I am not supose to stand no more than 60 minutes at a time and the same with sitting and I can't find a job that will hire me with the restrictions that even the judge for my disability said I should do.  Which is take a break every hours and lay down at least every three hours, not lifting over 10lbs on a regular basis.  I was in the home health care industry for 12 years and hurt my back somthing teriable, now I have fibromyalgia, restless leg sydrome, chronic broncitis, asmatha, COPD.  I am so behind on bills so I started doing websites like these for just extra cash for gas, to add to my bills or just what ever we need.  So is anyone else out there going through hard times? :sad1:

Im sorry to hear about your situation it seems like the government can care less about how people are struggling just as long as theyre getting paid. As a person who is unemployed I'm also struggling in this economy. FC has helped me with a few of my bills and thankfully there are other sites out there that also help me with my bills.

I think everyone is struggling because of inflation and unemployment. Look at the high prices of food and fuel. It is just terrible!

My husband works for a local charter school, when they're closed, he doesn't get paid.  That includes snow days and the summer.  It forced us to have to go to the county assistance office and apply for aid.  They don't give you much, just barely enough to cover some bills.  The money I get here and at other sites help pay the bills the aid won't cover.

I don't think I was ever NOT struggling. I feel very bad for the people who lost their jobs and are still having a problem finding one, so even struggling i am happy to have a job

Oh my, I wish there were a way to help all of you.  I sometimes think we're stuggling when we have to cut way back on what little we do but our bills get paid so I really can't complain.  It is much more difficult every third month when it's 5 weeks instead of 4 weeks until another Social Security check but we manage so far.

I have to say that I am very blessed for a job and thank the good Lord every night. My husband and I both have fulltime jobs so we are blessed to have 2 income's coming in. We bought a house a little over a year ago in a decent neighborhood. We both drive old cars but so what, no car payments. My car is about to die and I can't afford to add a car payment to my bills but I do need to be thankful for what I have and not whine about what I don't have when so many friends and family around me struggle financially.

I am definitely struggling. I am a mother of four boys ages 5-14, full time student, and unemployed. I have been looking for employment, but nothing has come through yet.  Just want someone to wish me luck. It is discouraging to look for so long and come up empty handed. :BangHead:

I am struggling also. I am a single mom with 2 young children.  I am a substitute teacher so I am not working in the summer and have no money coming in except for child support. My bills are always behind but I pay when i can. It is so hard!!!!  :BangHead:  I am trying to go back to work full time but no luck so far. But one day at a time, and I hope it gets better for everyone!
