I currently have a yellow lab, a black & white lab/pit mix and an arabian gelding (horse).

This morning has been an extremely sad one.  I heard my beloved cat Tony howling only to discover him laying on his side on the lineolum floor.  He couldn't walk, his back legs were dragging.  Since he's only going on five yrs. old and it was only a year and a half ago since I had the vet test him THOROUGHLY to see if something was wrong (because something seemed "off") and she told me she had done every test that she could think of and he was healthy, "take him home and enjoy him" she said.  So, I did...
I thought maybe he had a pinched nerve or had pulled a muscle from playing with the yellow lab.  Turned out he had a blood clot as a result of underlying undetected heart disease.  Their tests confirmed he had an enlarged heart...which explains the raspy breathing that he always had.  They said unfortunately, it wasn't something that would have been detected in the tests that I previously had done.
I held the little guy while he was euthanized.  There was no struggle, he was always so good.
He was the best cat ever...he's going to be missed so much.

Very sorry for your loss. :(  He looks like a great cat and I'm sure you were the best owner.  You took him to the vet and there was nothing you could have done.  Your cat knows he was loved.  I'm one of the few guy's I know who prefers cats over dogs.  It is terribly hard to lose a pet as they become your family.  Your not alone with knowing the pain in this loss.

Good Morning All,

I have 2 outdoor "farm dogs", a choc lab and and border collie lab mix, a little girl in a dog suit that rules the house (a Yorkie), a beautiful brown cat with green eyes and 4 horses.  I am waiting on my new black German Shepherd puppy to be weaned in about a month so she can move in - Nikki, the Yorkie will have to train her fast because she will be so big...lol   :angel11:
