My first two girls were easy to train then my third girl came along and it was a battle, we had to resort to a star reward system (I dont believe in candy rewards), each time she would go pottie she got a star, then when she would hit 30 we would buy the fish of her choice.  So when my son came along we used the star rewards and he worked towards hermit crabs.

It all depends on the child be cause I have 4boys 1 girl boys were potty trained by 4 and the girl by age 2.5
