A strange cc charge.

I called the number and left an angry message threatening a charge back when the voice mail appeared to be a personal phone with no identifying message. I looked up the number before calling even though I KNOW i didn't authorize this charge. I got a call back from the number that was hilarious! The man claimed that I had called the University of Utah research lab and that he had called the police on me for calling ! ROFLMAO! I told him good luck with that. I reported the card stolen and issued a charge back.

I called the number on my credit card charge and it is for a university. I already canceled my credit card because I never authorized such a charge. But thanks.

LMAO I am pretty sure that it is a charge that was made by someone other then eauctions and has nothing to do with the university of utah. That is why i closed my cc. But yeah it was a  pretty dumb thing to tell me !

ummm that charge is eaution!!! if you read when you start the trail it is a $1.95 trail... it states it in many places......

That charge sounds like Eauction...that's the amount the charge for the trial.  What is strange, is the number you called belonging to University of Utah.

yea it was just the trial charge from eauction, if you signed up with them then you authorized them to take the money, because it states that the charge will be made to your account for the trial, if you didn't sign up with them, then someone else did using your stuff and cancelling the card was a good thing to do.

As I have already stated I never signed up with eauction for anything nor would I.

Often times when you sign up for one thing, they send your information to their partners.

It's usually buried in their Terms of Service or something.

This is probably what happened to you - you bought something legitimately, and they gave your information out, turned a profit on it, and will hide behind some hidden thing you agreed to without realizing it.

that is why you are supposed to read everythinggggg. they have nothing to hide. if you read all info you know what you are getting into.... when offers have something like that, if you look under their terms it will state something like... you agree to a 7 day trail for balh ( the offer your doing ) you also agree to a free 10 day trail for blah site and blah site. you can cancel at anytime by calling blah blah blah. read and write... that's the key to never paying anything you don't know your going to be charged for..

Isn't Eauction something like the google success center thing? 'cause I did that and got the same charge.
