Craft shows, fairs, facebook are all good places to start.  Is there a Peddler's mall in your town?  Maybe rent a booth.  My husband makes chain maille jewelry and laptop stands, and I make homemade playdough and I bake from scratch.  We're actually doing a craft show next month.  Good luck!

Check out ilovetocreate.  They tell you good info plus get lots of new craft ideas for free.    If you don't believe in yourself with what you have created how do you expect anyone else to.  Now you know what you have done is good or maybe even grat so just get out there with it and show what you have done.  You can start taking pictures of each and everything you have done make a book and show it to friends and family get opinions keep it with you so if yo get opportunity to show someone your always ready.  if you go to church show it tosome of your lady friends there  tell them what your going to try to sell it.  Who knows they may just like it themselves and be your first buyee's

Take pride in what you have created and keep making more if you love it do it.

Facebook page, ebay, youtube video of you making something perhaps? But yeah, I'd get a facebook page and then make friends with other page admins and then tell them to spread the word (as opposed to just spamming, which hardly ever works I think)

If you are proud of your crafts any name will do and it wont matter what people think of the name of your site.  Love what you do and show it, be proud of it.  Why?  Because they were made by you with love.

Maybe check out Google's blogger.com and blog about your items.  You can post pictures, post things from Etsy and tell about them.  (For an example, there's an Etsy seller on there that blogs and she is so talented, her blog is Diary of an Indy Grrrl).

Butterfly Wings, I think that would be a good name for your Etsy shop. It sounds crafty and creative. I listed a few items on Etsy, for Christmas, but I didn't sell anything. I'm going to be putting magnets up in a few weeks. I think Etsy is a pretty good place for selling crafts, as long as they are original. You know you can get a good price, because people go there specifically to get home made stuff. With Ebay or Amazon, shoppers might think the prices are too high because they don't realize the work that goes into crafts, and they are trying to just get a bargain.Etsy is also good because you can share your store website URL with people so they can look at what you have. I put a link on my Facebook page as well.
If you really want to get into a home-based business, you can make your own website, but you will need some sort of ecommerce or other payment processor to handle credit card orders. My crafts are just a hobby, and I don't make a profit, so I haven't gotten into trying to start my own business.
