Fed up with Firefox

I've been using FF for a long time, because I like the interface and features a lot better than IE. But recently they've been getting very bad. They keep coming out with new versions and updates, and every time that happens, they force us to download the updated version by making the existing version freeze up constantly. Firefox has been acting up for me for about a week, and I thought that it must be because they have a now version coming up. Sure enough, today I got a pop-up notice saying that there was a new version with security updates, and do I want to download it now or later. I don't think it is right for them to force their new versions on us. If other browsers like Opera were compatible with the survey sites, I would stop using FF. Already I find myself going back to IE more and more, when I get frustrated with the underhanded techniques of FF.

What I've found with Firefox is that it's very unforgiving if a site doesn't load instantly and it completely hangs up.  If I go to Chrome and load the same site that caused Firefox to hang, I get a message that it's taking longer than expected to load and do I want to wait or close that tab.  Often, if I wait, the site does eventually load.  I would stop using Firefox entirely, if Google handled Lastpass as well as Firefox and let me use the FC toolbar

Yes I hate this too!  I hate downloading new versions of firefox every few months!

I refuse to upgrade to FireFox4.0.  I don't mind security updates, but I'm sick and tired of upgrading just for the sake of upgrading.

when  I bought my E Machines computer last year, I downloaded Google Chrome or it's possible it was already loaded. Yesterday I wanted to put a photo from Bing to my desktop. [ right click "save image as"] Google Chrome would not let me. And, it said that I had an old version a week ago. It took DAYS to load the new version. .... something wrong about that..... I deleted Google Chrome browser and went to Flock as my default. I like to use multiple browsers. I got rid of IE too. I like to minimize the browser screen and IE 9 would not allow it. I use FireFox, Flock, and Apple Safari.

I refuse to upgrade to FireFox4.0.  I don't mind security updates, but I'm sick and tired of upgrading just for the sake of upgrading.

You can skip 4 and go straight to 5 in a beta version. Worked much better for me. Ver 3 started refusing to work after a time and you will also need to upgrade eventually if you stick with Firefox.

I don't like Fire Fox myself... it always gave me problems... As much as I like security, it's the worse in getting through the internet... I've contnued to use Safari or IE....

I do like FF, and FF4 is pretty nice, but man it's a memory hog.  A lot of time I'll get script errors that cause the entire browser to hang.

C'mon Mozilla, you're better than this.

I like firefox and don't think the updates are that much of a hassle-it goes quick.

I'm not given forced updates as I'm still on 3.6, but I do see the browser sometimes becomes a huge memory hog and forced restarts seem to be happening more frequently. I use to bad mouth IE before, but on the occasions I use IE8 I feel this browser is a little more stable.

how about checking out google chrome? it's fast, has a lot of features to download (one of my favorites is split screen).

I love Firefox since it is one of the most secure browsers.  I make the choice to upgrade or not.  I see a 5.0 just came up yesterday  and opted not to download it.

I used to love Firefox, with the addons... mainly bc the ppl I lived with used it all the time and I didnt know much about computers. Now I use IE and never used FF in some time. FF very well could be the best thing since sliced bread, but I dont know anymore. I dont like IE bc it screws up alot. But whenever I use FF at someones house, it seems to be extremely slow!

Used to use them and liked it, but it's just too much work to update all the time and there were always sites that I couldn't get in with firegox, so I am an IE user now.
