Fireworks
« on: June 17, 2011, 03:09:29 am »
Do you set off fireworks at your home?  or do you go watch a local display?    Honestly our local display has been so terrible the past few years I don't bother going but I DO LOVE to watch fireworks.  We never buy any since all the kids are grown but this year we are having church service outside on July 3rd and they are going to have a fireworks display .... Cool

Our neighborhood is at a pretty high elevation so we are able to see the fireworks from several different communities within a ten mile radius.  We also gather at a friends house to light different, smaller fireworks for the sake of our kids.  Our kids have inherited their father's pyromaniac fancies! Of course the daddys get involved too...especially after a few cocktails!  One would think that alcohol and explosives are a bad combination! Some of the fireworks that are brought in mimic those used at the community firework displays!

I live about an hour or so away from Long Beach, WA and they really know how to celebrate 4th of July. They set off fireworks that seems loud enough for someone to hear from the other end of the state LOL. Then, you see people getting in trouble with the law as well. It can get pretty wild and crazy in Long Beach, WA :)

The best fireworks show i've seen was at epcot at disney world. That was awesome. People around here usually just try to see if they can light my house on fire or it seems that way.

For 4 years I did all the fund raising for my home town display.
It was fantastic and such a feeling of accomplishment.
I will always try to support someone who puts on a big display.

The best fireworks display I ever saw was in Land O Lakes WI. So much fun!

I go to see fireworks. Even though they have really gone downhill over the past several years. I don't like when fireworks are not done on July 4th. Here, if the 4th falls on a weekday, they do them on the weekend before. What's the use of having a fireworks display, if it's not done on the holiday?

We go sometimes, but if we do anything at home it is just fire crackers or sparklers.

 We can't do fireworks here in city limits. I doubt if anyone around here will because of the burn ban. I like to watch the displays, too.
