Do you guys use garbage bags?

I went to the store recently with my mom and was shocked how much garbage bags were, like 13 dollars for 70 or 80 bags !!! I have went to friends houses where they just use grocery bags as garbage bags and I tried to convince my mom to use them but she refused, so I was wondering do you guys use garbage bags? I could go without them

I occasionally buy garbage bags, but usually just use ones from grocery stores. But I will say when I have the actual garbage bags everything is much easier.

I haven't bought any garbage bags for a while now. I do have a box of garbage bags that I use for my empty soda cans. Then, I have grocery bags that I collect after each grocery shopping trip. I use them for my garbage and then, I take it outside to the bigger trash can.

i use plastic bags for my small garbage cans.....they seem to work fine for sure....but if you have a bigger can, might not be an option...then again, maybe it will convince people to by smaller cans and have less waste (or just more trips)....

I use smaller bags, for scraps and cleaning up behind the puppy, and put it all in a big trash bag, we do not have trash pick up here we have to haul it all ourself, makes for less mess if thing are double bagged.

Yeah garabge bags are way easier but I dont think i wil be spending 13 dollars for them, i have used grocery bags from the store and not even put them in garbage bags just hanging in the kitchen not much of a hassle for me, saves me money and i do not mind it that way

i use regular garbage bags for the kitchen trash can,
but i save grocery/shopping bags for the smaller
bathroom and bedroom garbage.

i usually buy mine at walmart and they have pretty
good deals on them. around $2 to $3 for 30 or 40
bags, which lasts longer than a month here.

Yes I use Hefty garbage bags.  They are strong.

I wish I didn't have to use garbage bags! I had to buy some today and it always makes me sick at paying that just to put trash in them. But... we have way to much garbage not to use garbage bags. Grocery bags would never do it for my family.

We have garbage bags but we only use them for the kitchen garbage can. Everywhere else in the house we use old grocery bags.

I use both. Garbage bags are used in the kitchen mainly, but I'm careful not to waste the bags either. For bathroom & bedroom trash we use the plastic bags from WalMart, Walgreens, Dollar General, etc. Even these bags can be re-used if there wasn't anything really gross put in them. (Like if it's just paper trash then they get emptied into another bag so that the least amount of bags get used each time.) We've even used the paper bags from places like Crest, Homeland, etc.

I use tall kitchen bags for the kitchen, and grocery bags for the bath and bedroom. I usually fit the grocery bags in the kitchen bags.

If you have a small family the store bags is a good idea.  I have five people in my family I need thee garbage bags.  I purchased the garbage bags at Sam Club for 90 for about $16.00.

I usually use the small garbage bags for the kitchen, but the grocery bags for the other smaller cans around the house. For recycling stuff, we can just throw everything in the bin without having to bag items separately. However I still use the paper grocery bags to bag my newspapers. For any yard waste, I always use thick garbage bags, even though they tend to be more expense than regular, thinner bags; even small stems from weeds can puncture thin walled bags, and once they're punctured, they usually deteriorate quickly. The yard waste I can haul myself to a local compost site. At the compost site, I have to remove the waste out of the bags, so the thick bags are also beneficial in that I can reuse them if they are still in good condition; the thin bags, however, I never seemed able to reuse.
