and i've successfully avoided camping thus far.

I have always enjoyed camping.  Especially up in the mountains where you can just get away from it all and rest your body and mind in the cool mountain air and listen to the seranade of nature at it's best.

I've been camping ever since I was a child as well as for fishing, which is the best part of the camping trip; It's also the most peaceful things on my list every Summer, & fall.  I can't wait to go again this weekend, so I can catch more fish than the guys lol.

Camping is a great way to clear yourself and have fun with gathered ones.

I have friends who think camping is "slow room service at the Marriott"  lol  My husband and I had a couple of different trailers.  We both loved to camp.  I really miss being able to do that now that he's gone.   :crybaby2: :crybaby2:

I love camping, I think this is a topic where people either love or hate camping. I have to admit I do not love the bugs but I have had lots of fun memories with family and cousins outside in a tent not really camping but they are memories I will never forget. And i did camping with girl scouts and I love the fresh air, escaping the crazy world, eating smores and just spending time with the people I love I think this can be a great getaway besides the bugs people want a weekend at a resort which is nice too but the nice fresh air and escaping the crazy world seems soooo nice to me!!!

I do not and never liked camping. Unfortunately I had relatives that absolutely loved it and insisted on dragging me along. Now that I'm an adult and make my own decisions.....no camping! The half cooked/burned campfire food, bugs, dirt, etc. Why would I want to cook on a campfire when I have a perfectly good stove at home, or sleep in a sleeping bag on the ground, when I have a comfy bed at home? I don't like any sports like hunting or fishing, even though I have done both. I love wild game and fish, but don't like getting it or cleaning it. Will cook it though.

Don't mind day trips to go have a picnic or visit Yosemite National Park (near my home). However, when it starts getting dark.....time to go back to my cozy home. If I want to be out in nature, I just go outside on my deck (I live in the foothills/mountains).

The idea is nice, but I would say it heavily depends on the area.
The desert sucks in every aspect and I would hate to be thrust into the middle of it without any kind of security.

We used to go on vacations camping when I was a kid, it was simply the best. I loved the outdoors, the fishing, skipping rocks, stopping at trading posts along the way. It was always so much fun.

meee too!  ;D

you think you're getting me out there with the creepy
crawlers, the mosquitos, and the axe murderers?
i'm not afraid of breaking a nail or anything, but can't
we just have a bonfire with a bag of marshmallows in
the backyard? ...and bring the bug spray.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]
