I would prefer not to know anyones sexual preference.  As long as some one isn't a preditor and doesn't hurt someone I don't care one way or the other.  I don't think that answers your question about the Bible.  Sorry about that.  If I believed whole heartedly everything the Bible says I would be afraid to move.

I am a Christian and I beleive it is wrong. God don't make no mistake, if he wanted men to be with men he would have made everyone a man or everyone a woman.  God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.  I beleive that with my whole heart, but I cannot judge anyone, only God will.

The Bible expressly calls homosexuality an abomination. Yes, I'm a Christian Minister and do not believe we can go against God's law and not expect the consequences for any sin identified between it's pages. For the person that said it was only in the Old Testament and things/times change.....now it's okay, is sadly mistaken. The New Testament speaks of homosexuality (negatively) also, and God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Also, those of you garnering the "hate" issue to those who take a stand against it, are mistaken. God said right in His Word that He hated the sin of homosexuality Himself. However, He loved humanity enough to die for their sins, and now puts a choice for everyone to accept that gift of forgiveness, and eternal life in the next life. Just because we as Christians do not approve of the sin, does not mean we hate the people involved in it. However, we can't voice a double standard to say it's okay, and then try to take a Biblical stand. That's confusion, as the Word of God so clearly speaks against it.

I cannot "twist" the Bible to make it fit a sin that is clearly forbidden between it's pages. If God is against it....then so am I. That won't change.....ever  If you are a true Christian, then you don't pick and choose what you want out of God's Word, to make those who sin feel better.........it doesn't work like that. We as Christians are to reach out to a lost world, but not to condone or be partakers in the sinner's sin. We are to keep ourselves unspotted from the world and it's sin as much as is within us with God's Spirit working through us. Our own hearts deep down tells us what is right and wrong without even reading it in the Bible.

You may say that I'm judging this lifestyle, but actually the Word of God has already judged it, and I stand on the Word of God and live my life by it.

I was raised Christian, but am now somewhere between agnsotic and unitarian universalist. I think most people have the entirely wrong approach to religion. It isn't about being right in every possible way or having faith in some invisible being. It is about love and being the best person you can for yourself and others.

As far as homosexuality, I find it apalling that God is so often used to create and justify hate and violence towards and group.

I do not agree with homosexuality. I do NOT feel hatred towards people who are homosexual in any way, I even have a homosexual friend. But I do not agree with the practice. I am Christian, and I believe that we are to treat EVERYONE the same, and I truly strive to do just that. But God has commanded that marriage is between a man and a woman only, and that is all. Marriage is a very sacred thing, and it should only be between a man and a woman. "Hate the sin, love the sinner". It is not our job to judge these people to be bad people, but we can hold true to our beliefs.

Again....you have "hate" and "violence" mixed up. I do not "appreciate" the sin of child molestation, adultry, murder, or any of the sins defined in God's Word. However, those who do such things are still loved by God and his people regardless of the sin. If the Holy Ghost is working in your life, then you CAN love the soul but not the sin.

Everybody has the choice to accept God and His Word or not. I'm not here to make that choice for anyone. Only to make it for myself. God and His word are not used to justify anything as "hate" or "violence" as it is in black and white and stands on it's own without anyone adding or taking from it. Your accusation of Christians doing so is without merit.

I really like your answer, but I have one question for you.
You stated that God doesn't make mistakes. I truly believe that also with my whole heart. But, what about a child born with a disability, for example those who are born without legs? Would you say that God doesn't make mistakes, therefore those people should live their lives legless and not try have a normal life with what feels comfortable and normal with them by getting leg transplants? Would you also consider that going against God's original plan?

This comparison is the first thing that came to my mind when I read your statement that God doesn't make mistakes, if he meant something, don't try something else (Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve).

Congratulations on being able to think for yourself. I can never understand why people brought up in a religion, never even consider researching or exploring other ideas. People like you give me hope that others will follow your lead.  ;D

I am a christian and have no problem with homosexuality. I feel this way due to personally knowing people who are gay. If I hadn't known anyone my opinion could have been different.

Since you had my posting as a quote, I'm not sure if you want me to answer this or ghunter?

However, God does not make mistakes, man does by his wrong choices. If a child is born with a disability and medical science can help with transplants or whatever, then I have no problem with anyone trying to lead a better life. I believe that God has given man wisdom in certain matters (doctors and medical science). We must make sure to acknowledge that God gave the wisdom and thank Him for it. However, when science wants to replace God, then there's a problem.

You seem to be asking from a science/medical point of view and I understand that question. If you are trying to ask why anyone is born with a disability of anything, remember that we all are born in sin because of Adam and Eve. Some are born in certain ways because the mother made bad choices, or just because of the sinful state of the world.

Not knowing what you actually believe, it might be hogwash to you to mention the enemy of our soul and the choices we make for ourselves that can be so wrong in the end. I believe a lot of what is happening in the world today is the judgement dispensation coming upon us. The dispensation of Grace is fast closing.

Of course you need to believe the Word of God to comprehend this. There are many who call themselves Christians, but are only hearers of the Word and not doers. Anybody who is a genuine child of God will adhere to Biblical teaching without variance. This is the choice I made, I cannot make it for anybody else.

I liked your answer but was asking Ghunter the question. I'm sorry for the confusion. Now I do have a question for you: I was partially asking from a medical/ science point of view, but my main point was this: just like people would see it a good thing for a child who is born without arms or legs to get transplants and be normal and enjoy life, would you considerer homosexuality the same way? In that I mean this: the person is born different and feels different and their sexual preference is different as others in their gender. I believe it to be biological and not a choice. So would you say that the person should be free to be with whomever they feel comfortable and happy with, or they should try to be someone they're not and live a life that doesn't suit them and therefore suffer-- just like the person who was born different without legs and have to live the rest of their lives in a wheelchair.

I am a Christian but not a Biblical scholar. But I tend to have a hard time believing that God would go against homosexuality. My reason: the person didn't choose to be born this way. For example, a gay man is a male individual but with feminine sexual needs and feelings. In my opinion I think it would be torture to force that person to have a sexual life that wasn't for him. That is why I have a hard time believing God is against homosexuality. Again, I am not a Bible scholar, that is just what my gut tells me, thinking with a clear mind.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
