Paid to Click Virus Warning
« on: May 08, 2011, 06:18:17 am »
Just thought I would give you a heads up on a virus warning my Norton caught this morning.  On Paid to Click I chose the Home Money Biz advertisement and received a warning that the site contained a virus and cautioned me about proceeding.

So, if you have not already done the Paid to Click for today you may want to pick Survey Scout or one of the others for the time being....just to be on the safe side.

Otherwise, everything else seems to be functioning properly and I still received credit.

Happy clicking.!!

I got that today too and I know I have not prior and I use Norton as well. I almost wonder if our definitions were updated to see that site as a virus or if they got hacked

OK, what gives???   I just got the same warning on My Thought Counts...Samplicious...Survey Head...Give Us Your 2 Cents...SSI Daily Survey....these pages are showing up as a Google Chrome warning and I use Norton...nothing new with either, no updates, no modifications to the settings...hmmmm
I don't understand.....never had this happen before...is anyone else getting these warnings on almost every page???

yes i use google chrome, too, and have gotten the warning with every single survey!  I clicked on them all - but will not go to the pages.  Luckily, for the daily 15 cents, I automatically clicked on survey scout which came up just fine - but after clicking the thing for toluna, the malware warning came up, so I quickly exited, before going to the page, yet got my 15 cents anyway.

Thanks you for the info.  This is frightening!!!  I did not have any problem like this this morning but I also have a mac and Apple tells me that Apple products have built in virus protection.  I think that you should post this same message under support and put the subject in capital letters or even open a support ticket because I think that the administrator needs to be made aware of this problem ASAP.  FC is beta testing a new daily email.  I wonder if that would have anything at all to do with the virus warnings.    :dontknow:

someone did post a thread in the "support" section of the forum about the issue...so hopefully they will catch it soon and check into it..

I, too, wondered about that - with the new email testing....something new, and suddenly this?

I don't have Norton, but I didn't even get to the page. I got a Google Safe Browsing stop page:

Safe Browsing
Diagnostic page for pantheranetwork.com

What is the current listing status for pantheranetwork.com?

Site is listed as suspicious - visiting this web site may harm your computer.

Part of this site was listed for suspicious activity 2 time(s) over the past 90 days.

What happened when Google visited this site?

Of the 35 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 2 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2011-05-08, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2011-05-07.

Malicious software is hosted on 2 domain(s), including globalpoweringgathering.com/, globalpoweringgatheringon.com/.

This site was hosted on 2 network(s) including AS8182 (DIGITALRIVER), AS26496 (PAH).

Has this site acted as an intermediary resulting in further distribution of malware?

Over the past 90 days, pantheranetwork.com did not appear to function as an intermediary for the infection of any sites.

Has this site hosted malware?

No, this site has not hosted malicious software over the past 90 days.

How did this happen?

In some cases, third parties can add malicious code to legitimate sites, which would cause us to show the warning message.

Same here with the PTC for Money Biz. My norton expired but firefox gave me a similar warning. This isn't the first time I've seen it though so i dont think the new email testing has anything to do with it. Was surprised to read it happening for all the survey pages though  :dontknow:

I got the warning too. I am using FF but have several security features beside that. Maybe we can get a new choice to click on. I for one am tired of that one anyway.

That's very strange I've haven't gotten these warnings but I do know have had unrelated issues with all these daily surveys recently, not the daily click, though. They've not credited or disqualified me oddly enough.
