Animal Rights and Food Industries: The Other Issue
« on: May 06, 2011, 03:50:45 am »
There's always been controversy surrounding the practices on meat produce, and the often times horrible circumstances of the animals (cattle, poultry, sheep, etc.) before their deaths. For those who are against this behavior found at some farms and other meat producing facilities:

How do you feel about the killing of the not-so-cuddly animals? The arthropods (insects, arachnids, crustaceans, etc.), mollusks (and cephalopods) are also killed and/or consumed by humans. I just find it puzzling that only certain species are considered worthy of defense, while others aren't even taken into consideration at all.   ???

Have you ever wondered, or has this just not crossed your mind?

Hey if the Lord didn't want us to kill and eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat!  :dontknow:

It is noted in the book of Genesis 1:24-30. The animals are here to help us. Why would I want to kill and eat the ox who plows my field? I wouldn’t want to be treated cruelly doing hard labor, then get slaughtered mercilessly for food after becoming too old and exhausted to work. :'( Everyone agrees we should treat others the way we would like to be treated.

If the animals are here to help us, wouldn't that include feeding us as well?

I’ve already answered that. Just put yourself in the animal’s position and you will know the answer.  :peace:

You can't possibly be comparing humans and animals and coming up with equal.
