so recently one of our daycare kids' sister(13) had gone to the dr for side pains. come to find out she has lukemia and has had for some time now. she has had bone marrow procedures done, many doses of chemo. and blood transfusions. poor girl camt be around fumes from cleaning products or dust so someone has to clean their house while they are in madison on a weekly basis now. poor kid feels like she cant do anything her self anymore. she hasnt been to school since late march. a tutor has been coming to see her to get her caught up with school work. she's just now starting to lose her hair due to the chemo. poor girl loves her hair too. i feel bad for her and her mom coz she is a single mom raising 3 kids(her being the oldest) from a deadbeat father(which has not seen the 13yr old since hearing she was sick, but it's ok ..she doesnt want ne thing to do with him anyways). the parent isnt working now coz she is on leave because of her daughter being sick and needs constant care. so, she has applied for food assistance from our state and other things she can get to help out her family. we're trying to help ne way possible, mowing her lawn for free, having benefits, having the younger kids over night for free, and cleaning her house. man everytime i think about her now ..i get tears in my eyes. it's just so sad. she's lost 10 pounds and she looks so different. they say shes making improvement though so thats good but no major changes yet.
