Obama's Birth Certificate

So, Today, they released the birth certificate of our current President.  I would like to know why did it take several years for it to be released?  Could it be fake?  Tell me what you think.

I was thinking the same thing!! Could this be a fake? But I don't know! Hopefully its real and they aren't trying to pull the wool over our eyes!

Have we ever seen any of the previous president's birth certificates? I don't remember, but they may have been released. I haven't figured out why this is such a big deal.

No other president has publicly released their birth certificate.  It's pretty sad that he even had to do this.

He brought this all on himself.  He could have put this to rest years ago when Hilary Clinton's campaign first brought it up, but he was too arrogant and felt that he didn't owe it to the American people.  He was like the bratty kid who refused to open his mouth when his mom wants to see what he has inside.  And yes, John McCain had to produce a birth certificate, so this is not unusual.

For a public servant to take this attitude is disgusting.  I have to go to the DMV later this week.  I will have to show my birth certificate.  Don't you think they would be suspicious if I started trying to get them to accept a birth record or newspaper announcements or call a few people who would vouch for me?

I hope all public officials learned something from this.  Serving is an honor and when people have questions, a thorough, honest answer goes a long way toward staving off controversy and speculation.

I think this whole thing is ridiculous.  This country has bigger problems than verifying the President's place of birth.  We should be more concerned about gas prices, forclosures and natural disasters.  These are the issues that matter.

I agree with you this country has a lot bigger problems than the Presidents birth certificate which was already produced but no one liked that one even though it was considered ok at the time of the election and even before that this is just another type of distraction brought on by our so called government republicans  to not take care of what has to be taken care of the budget health care jobs oil prices foreclosures Government officials wake up

Obama furnished a birth certificate WAY back then as well. It is only now that is public.  They didn't just let him run for president and then a couple years after being elected start questioning whether or not he should have been allowed to run in the first place.  Please at least get your facts straight before you criticize.  

And no, John McCain has never publicly released his birth certificate, nor has any other president.

I disagree that it is ridiculous or silliness as I heard Pres. Obama say.  It is among the  requirements for presidency as put forward in the constitution.  Article II, Section 1, Clause 5:
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

i dont think we should have to see the birth certificate of our president. In order to be able to even run the government has to see it first to authorize that it is a legit american birth certificate. Some people argue that it is fake because it doesnt say birth certificate on it but thats because he was born someplace else because his father was stationed in a different country due to military service.

McCain's father was in the military stationed in Panama when McCain was born and he did show his birth certificate.  Obama's father did not serve in the military.

They actually released a birth certificate quite some time ago. I think the latest was a copy of the Hawaii state record which they said the state would/will not release, so I'm not sure how they finally got it. The record has additional information where the certificate does not have that much.
