Who are more suicidal Men or Women?

I feel 98.5% women because they are more connected to their emotion which makes us complexed beings. I feel 21.5% men because they arent complex being.

I feel both genders  (including gays and lesbians) equally have suicidal tendencies due to the demanding pressures of today’s society so I don’t categorize women are more suicidal than men because they are more attuned to their emotional nature. Both genders can hit bottom low and felt life isn’t worth living anymore.

You don't think 98.5% is too high? That leaves only 1.5% of women who wouldn't be suicidal.


More men die from suicide than women, but women attempt suicide more than men.

I'm retired from the mental health field...and though I don't know any recent statistics,,,my own personal thought is that women threaten suicide, attempt suicide more often than men...(no offense ladies, but I feel it's for the attention more often than men) and men don't talk about it as much,,,they succeed more in actually carrying out a plan.  Also, men are viewed as the "stronger" sex, so even if they do verbalize a thought, most people don't believe they would actually carry it out....so men get less of a reaction from others. 

But..Bottom line...suicide in both men and women is a very serious issue...take any and all comments, threats, etc. as true intent...and take action on their behalf....because it's no fun living with the fact that someone you  know actually took their own life.

I remember reading somewhere that women are more likely to try suicide, but that men are the most successful at completing their goal.

I agree we are emotional.men are more physical.which is why women are more likely to be suicidal than men

Uhm, I think its about the same. I know more men that have committed suicide than women.

I also agree that women attempt suicide more but that men are more successful. I remember reading somewhere once that it was because of the ways that the different gender tend to choose to commit suicide. Men are more likely to choose firearms and women are more likely to choose drug overdoses.

Well I feel like girls can be because of their emotion problems. But a lot of guys are too. I guess because I'm a girl I feel that girls are but I feel it could be equal, 50-50.

I am not sure which commits suicide more but oldbuddy has it right, why not concentrate on how fast guys can make money so women can go spend it.........LOL

men spend it faster then women now a days....since they primp more than we do ...................times have changed back to the oldbud way
