how often do you tell your loved ones you love them

I tell my husband several times a day. It never feels like enough.

At least three times per day.  I would do it more if I had more time.  Things that I do also let them know that I love them  like: working four jobs, being at their sporting events, never buying frivolous items for myself, not going out with friends, passing on jobs that would take me out of state and them out of their routines, little presents each week.

i tell my husband and kids every chance i get. i know i should tell my parents and siblings more than i do but sometimes its hard to find the time to call or visit them.

as for life being too short, i disagree. its the longest thing you'll ever live through

I try to tell them everyday, if not by word by dee and that count for a whole lot.  My kids are all grown up but I do have my grandkids so it's important to let them hear you tell each other you love them and they will always tell their parents they love them.

I don't recall my mother ever telling me that she loved me, so I made it a practice of telling my kids all the time.  Now it is every time we see each other or talk on the phone.  The grandkids are even into saying "I love you".
