What age to start dating?

From what I hear, kids don't really date anymore; it's all about the hooking up. It is so different from when I was in middle school/high school and I am only 22 now. I am from a small town, and there have been so many recent incidents of teenagers "sexting", spreading diseases, and having babies. It is ridiculous to have to worry about that stuff before some even hit puberty! But, if kids really do want to date, and not just hook up or whatever you want to call it, I think it depends on the kid. I do think it is a bad idea to go off to college without any dating experience, especially if it is going from a small town to a bigger one. There are so many new opportunities, and some could take advantage of the kid's naivety.

I think 16 is a good age, however it must always have parental involvement and monitoring from both sides.

I feel before you date someone you should ask yourself if you could spend the rest of your life with the other person. If you can say yes, try it. It doesnt have to be a particular age, but not like a little kid ya know cause they cant comprehend it all.
