People will still buy gas. And the government knows this so will not try and do anything. My husband and I live on a very tight budget so we try and make every trip count. We do our grocery shopping just once a month instead of weekly and we try and wait to go to town until we can get everything done at once.

oh how i better have a better job by the time that day comes. I only work 3 hours a day at 7.90 an hour and if gas keeps going up as it does, I may be placing my how pay check into my gas tank and then ill start asking if the job is even worth keeping.

At the rate the prices are going up, it will be $5.00 before summer. I guess I won't be going any where for summer vacation.High gas  prices will just make it more appealing for people to go on welfare rather than work for a living. Which means the government will rack up their debt even faster, and tax those of us that still work even more.
It doesn't seem like a smart move to make the gas prices go up, as that will only hurt the economy. Obama's best chance for reelection will be to show that he improved the economy, but raising the gas prices will cause another economic crash, just like the last one. I hope it comes quickly so that gas prices will drop again!

We have it good in america. In some countries it's $6 to $10. I'd say just find a job in walkin distance or take a scooter to work.lol

Gas is outrageous right now!  There's really nothing we can do about it. Just gave to deal with it.

I think people are resourceful and will take many measures to conserve and find alternate transportation. The country has a huge stockpile of reserve and should release some of it to help. Prices will continue to go up given the unrest in the ME. :P

Maybe our government will do something because with rising gas prices our commodities will not be shipped because the truckers can't afford for the prices to go any higher. All this will do is pass the higher cost on to us in the long term and I don't think any of us can afford milk for $5. a gal or bread for $4. a loaf.

I guess there be more people walking or riding the bus to work. It's hard when you have to work.

It is going to get tough on alot of people; especially on those who have to drive a good distance to work. Some people can use alternative methods to get to work like the bus ,etc.. I feel for the folks who live in rural areas and have to travel 50 miles or more one way. I live close enough to work that I can walk if need be. It probably would do me some good to do that anyway.

Deal with it like the rest of the world. I hope it is a push for creating better fuel efficiency and alternative fuel vehicles that are reliable, cost efficient and most importantly not dependent on foreign oil.

The gas prices are driving anxiety with everyone through the roof.  I think it will make people start spending less again, especially if it reaches that point by the fall.  Need to save up for the winter months again.

I park my car a mile or two short of my destination and walk the rest  of the way. Also, I use "hypermiling" techniques when possible.

What politicians dont realise is that gas prices affect everything. Once the gas prices rise food prices go up, clothing prices goes up, water out of the tap cost rise, electricity prices rise, etc. Economy slows down. Its hurts everybody. Its a domino effect. The politicians could care less. They make money from us the taxpayers.
