My wife uses premium and paid $3.89 today, so $4 is not far off. Fortunately we don't need to go to work and the Internet pays me well. The worse it gets, the more money I make, not that I wish that on anyone.

I have no idea what working people will do!      Gas continues to go up daily and everytime I go to the grocery store prices have increased on one thing or another!    It is just continued added stress to the working people of this country!

I don't know what people are going to do when gas get so high that we have to give up something we need.  It went up a year or 2  ago and it was nearly $4 a gallon then.  But when things settled down the price went down.  Maybe this will be the case this time.

Shoot, I would start catching the bus. It's cheaper than having to pay 5 dollars per gallon of gas. It just makes no sense whatsoever that gas prices would have to be so high.

Its about $3.53 for regular unleaded gas at AM/PM gas station in my small town. Its the cheapest gas that I could find in my area. I don't have anyone to carpool with and I still gotta work. So, I guess I will continue to pay for the gas :(

Our gas has gone from 2.94 to 3.64 for regular in three weeks and that was 2 days ago when I went by a gas station. I now carpool for errands, I pick up my boy friend and we make a loop once a week or 10 days for shopping and other necessities. We talk on the phone about what we need to do so we can plan our trip. For work we just bite the bullet as our equipment van has to go to take all the painting supplies, paint and power washer with us. But if we are just going to bid the job, back to my car or his small pick-up as they both get alot better gas mileage that the van. Also I email estimates and final bills when ever possiable.

:cat:   I've already tried cutting back places I go and trying to do several errands on the same day.  I still have to drive 2 hrs. away twice a month for doctors/specialists.  I don't know how to get around that for now. I hope it will do like before and slowly come back down.  It's a shame that the consumers have to take the blunt of gas prices raising, bill expenses rising, groceries climbing in price, etc.

It is just crazy.  I work about 25 miles from home so I fill up at least once a week.  It stinks.

I decided, some what by choice, and a few unforeseen circumstances, that having a car just was not worth it.  I am able to walk to work.  I don't make as much, but then, I also don't spend as much. Having to pay the insurance and then the price of gas to get to work I felt like I was working for nothing.  I do miss just being able to take a road trip when I want, but the price of gas was stopping that anyway. It does make buying in bulk challenging at times.

My husband and I were discussing that this morning.  It's all over the news and is just a scare tactic to control the masses.

When gas prices approached $4.00 I reduced unnecessary trips, used alternate sources of travel that weren't as expensive (bike, light-rail, walking), drove more conservatively, bought a car that was more conservative/economical and found a job closer to home.  I can only imagine that I would use these same approaches to a greater degree. I might even look at working out of my home.

its crazy how driving somewhere now cost almost as much as in air fare.  might as well go buy me a chopper and fly to my destinations :angel12:

Well i guess they will be spending more time at home i live on a fixed income  and its hard enough to make it now let alone pay 5.00 for a gallon of gas.
