Just go buy a Farmer's Almanac and read it, it tells you when and how to plant and what to plant on certain days. I really works too. And you will have a green thumb, and learn a lot too.  :peace:

Some things I can grow others I can't.  We share with the family.  My father can grow tomatos like there is no tommorrow.  Also cucumbers.  I can grow green beans, peas and some other vegs.  So I grow more of what works for me and he grows more that work for him.  And then we share we do this with my uncle and niece to so we get a rounded group of plants.  I try to grow something new every year to try and see what is going.

I have a semi green thumb. Hopefully I'll develop more of a green thumb when I go to college. I'd like to major in horticulture.

I donot have a green thumb, I wish I did. I buy flowers and plants that don't need a lot of care and they will come back every year. My mother had a green thumb and I wish I had taken after her because i love plants and flowers.

LOL, very funny and you sound like my poor daughter-in-law. She swears she kills off her silk plants in the house. Not bragging, but I definitely have a very green thumb and love playing in the dirt both in the house and outside. I have always said that when I can retire (yeah, right :P), I want to own a greenhouse. For anyone who has trouble, the Farmers Almanac will help, but I would highly suggest doing an online search. Look for "plants that are hard to kill, easy to take care of by anyone" and you'll find a whole world of hardy plants that are VERY easy to keep going. If you garden outside, make sure you are looking at the correct zone (on the maps) for the area you live in. So many people don't do this, or think they can make a desert type plant adapt to Vermont, and the result is wasted $$$ and time. I also tell friends to start out with cheaper plants, NOT a $100 hybrid, and see what you can do with them. If they DO die, you aren't out a ton of money - gardening can get very expensive, trust me. Good luck to my fellow gardeners! ;)
