Help with Disney ?
« on: March 02, 2011, 04:58:01 am »
My husband and I are going to Disney World (me for the first time at age 53!) I am trying to make out our plans and was wondering if anyone has been to all of the parks?  I know for sure we will go to the Magic Kingdom and to Epcot but what about the Animal Kingdom and the Hollywood studios?  We only have time to visit one of the two..... which is better?

THANKS FOR ANY INSIGHT and HELP !!!!! :peace:

Disney does not have a bad place to go... you will enjoy anything and everything and I went when our daughter was five and I was in my 30's...

I am from Southern California so I am pretty partial to the original Anaheim Disneyland built in the 1950s.  But I think that you will have  fun at whatever park you visit.

I lived near Disney for a while. Any of the parks are fun, but I would recommend Animal Kingdom personally of those two. I would also recommend going to Cirque du Soleil while you're in the area, it is an awesome show.

What do you like to do? Hollywood Studios has the American Idol Expereince, Toy Story Mania, as well as a number of hsows like Beuty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid. If you like rollercoasters the rock'n'roller coaster by aerosmith is the best on disney property. If you like the zoo and animals than animal kingdon is for you, the safari is fun as well as the walk through the Gorillas. Animal Kingdom also has a big roller coaster Mount Everest. The lion King and Nemo shows are also pretty good. I am sure you will enjoy whatever you do just try to relax and have fun.

We have been to both of them many times and it is a tossup.  I think I would vote for Animal Kingdom.  We like some of the rides and the shows.  On the other hand, the Fantasmic show, after dark, at the studios is awesome.  If you time it right, you could go to Animal Kingdom first thing in the morning and then to the studios later in the afternoon.

I have not been to Animal Kingdom, but I loved Hollywood Studios. I have heard from friends that they both have amazing shows and rides, so it is really up to if you want the animal or movie experience. Personally, I am a movie buff and that's why Hollywood Studios was so much fun!

I've lived about 45 minutes from Disney since I was 5 (1985) so I've been to Disney many, many times. I'm glad you're hitting the Magic Kingdom and Epcot because of course, you can't miss those, but between Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios or whatever it's called now (it used to be MGM) I would recommend Animal Kingdom. Is it just you and your husband? Are there going to be kids? Remember it's Disney so the zoo part of Animal Kingdom is really amazing and there are great rides there. The studios I would say is more for adults and I don't think as much fun but it does have the Tower of Terror which is fun and scary and I'm not sure it they still have it but a show called Fantasmic which was really good. It's been a couple years since I've been to any of the parks but they used to give out fast passes at the rides for free but now it's something you have to purchase but from what I've heard it's very worth it to avoid the lines. There are "hidden" things at all the parks like a hunt for kids in the Pirates of the Caribbean land to find gold with the characters and I'll try to think of more and let you know.
