I was lucky in that my son always ate what I gave him, I did only give him food in his high chair, no mobile food. I think it started a good habit, even at 16 he likes to eat at the table.

My 2 year old is a real grazer...she hates to sit still and eat so I try to do just finger foods like carrots, grapes, raisins and give a dip like ranch. Of course, sometimes all she eats IS the dip lol...if he's eating sandwiches yet, try cutting fun shapes with cookie cutters. My daughter will always sit down to eat her heart-shaped grilled cheese

I use to mix a little of my son's food up with something else that he likes and he would eat it for example peas.Anything meat flavor like chicken or turkey he would eat so i would mix a little together with the peas and it worked like a charm.I gradually added less as he got older.

I would put him in a high chair he can't get out of for 20 minutes or so for each mealtime. If he doesn't eat do it again next meal. Kids won't starve themselves to death. Eventually he'll see he's staying in the chair for the allotted time no matter what, he may as well eat.
My son scared me when he was about 2. He didn't eat anything for almost a week. I took him to the Dr. and he said " he'll eat when he's hungry". Not helpful at the time, but true.

Have you tried tempting him with something he REALLY loves, like ice cream, cookies or etc...? Make sure he understands he HAS to eat the vegi's so he can get the good stuff. Other than that, or things like making eating a game, or hiding vegi's within other food, I am not too sure. I never really had a problem getting my daughter to eat her vegi's, mostly because I myself did not like stuff like cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts and etc... so I never served them for dinner. The things I did server were like corn, green beans, peas, carrots and etc... and she loved those. When she was about 5, she had some brussle sprouts at the day care, and asked me to make them for dinner... LOL, so I had to go to the store and buy a vegi that she ate, and I did not. I still can not believe she asked me to make those things... (ewww...) LOL.

I agree with the highchair bit or even a booster chair that you can strap them into. I have found that he always eats better at the table (and it's cleaner to boot). Although in our house dinner is eaten at the table, lunch is eaten on a blanket in the living room and we watch a movie or special show, breakfast is on the go. He eats his dinner the best but he very rarely finishes his breakfast! When he was smaller I strapped him into the booster seat....now he just sits on it BUT if he tries to get down and run around the "threat" of being strapped in is enough to keep him focused on his dinner. :)
