what are you reading?
« on: February 28, 2011, 07:32:11 am »
Now that I don't have t.v.  I find myself reading more.  I never realized that I do enjoy it.  I am reading "The Hiding Place" by Trezza Azzopardi.  It started out slow, but it is getting really interesting now.  While reading this I think, even though times have changed people really don't.  All I am going to say about it is "that poor family".  It is a good story.  Although I don't think it ends that way, but I am not sure.

My husband got a kindle for his birthday, so naturally I stole it from him.  I take it with me to my new job and on my breaks I've been switching between "Sense and Sensibility" and "Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters."  Its so much more amusing that way.  Plus, the thought that Edward's sister, the infamously evil Mrs. Dashwood, might get eaten by a giant squid makes her behavior slightly more tolerable.

I'm currently working on Battle Cry of Freedom by James McPherson. A Pulitzer Prize winning history of the US Civil War.
Borders is having great sales now that they've gone BK. So many books, so little time.

I usually end up reading about 3 books at a time, switching between them depending on what I'm in the mood for LOL ...Right now I'm re-reading Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon...I just downloaded it onto my Kindle (even though it's already on my bookshelf!) and was in the mood for a very engrossing story. If you are interested in the historical fiction/ romance/ adventure novels pick up Outlander, it's amazing! I'm also reading Sex in the City and I Talk Pretty One Day.

I am currently reading the Idiot's Guide to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  It is very good and gives down to earth explanations that help me understand Church teachings.

I am reading the Women's Murder Club book series by James Patterson. I am on number 6 right now. I love mysteries and Patterson is the master! Definitely recommend them if you're into suspense.

I am reading Love at first Flight on my kindle.  I usually read a book a day depending on the number of pages in the book.  I am an avid reader.

I'm just about done with Jesse Ventura's American Conspiracies. You can listen to the audio book for free here:
