Is there a difference and why? or why not?
I feel religion is a teaching of the biblical words and being religious is holding steadfast to your biblical following ...just my opinion off the top of my head ...I didnt do extensive research yet..but will do ...Just need some  feedbacks fro my FC users...

I'm not sure what you are trying to ask.
Religion is a noun (with variously worded definitions), generally referring to a set of beliefs or doctrines involving a deity/deities.
Religious is either an adjective (with variously worded definitions), generally referring to the act of following a religion, or it is a noun with only one definition:  a member of a religious order under monastic vows.

The difference is that they are different words that have different (though related) meanings and uses.  Is there some other meaning to your question?

I think she wants to know the differences between religions.  That is an extremely broad topic, though.

Some religions teach baptism by immersion, some teach sprinkling, and others that you don't need to be baptized at all; some teach that if you accept Christ as your savior, you are saved, while others teach that works are the important factor; some religions teach that God is an ethereal force blob that permeates everything, while others teach that God is a physical being; some teach that every single word in the Bible must be taken literally, while others teach that the Old Testament is barely scripture and only the New Testament should be studied.

You name a doctrine, there are differences of opinion and belief soon to follow.  The religious world could not be more divided.  Christians could not be more divided, and it's a sad truth  :(

A collegiate student follows the college teachings and doesn't go beyond them or apply them outside of tests or exams. An intellectual however applies everything they learn to almost anything and learns because they want to. Apply the same thing to your own question. :)

According to James 1:27 in KJV of the Bible says religion is this:

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."

To do something religiously means to do something consistently so a person can be religious without practicing religion.
