How long does everyone keep their Christmas lights up?

Mine come down the day after New Years.

I took all of my christmas stuff down before new year came in. Like two day before.

Generally,due to the way my parents always did it the lights and tree must go up the weekend after Thanksgiving and we usually leave them up til the weekend after New Years.But for some reason this year I was just done with it so they have been down since right before the New Year! Also depending on who you talk to they say it's bad luck to take them down and pack away before New Year's!

We usually keep our lights up until January 1st, New Years Day.

Everything comes down the day after christmas.  I see it as the holiday is over, the celebration is over.  Why keep Christmas lit for a long length of time.
