How long does everyone keep their Christmas lights up?

And do you still turn them on at night. I am planning to take mine down this weekend but half the neighborhood is still lit up.

My lights on my tree went out before Christmas and I was too lazy to change itl  I did buy some new ones to start mext year off right.  I usually take them down on New Years Day.

 I took my Christmas tree and lights down the day before the new years. I never leave my stuff up past the new year.

    I do not when I am taking down my Christmas ornaments this year. Some people celebrate Chirstmastime year-round in some parts of the world.

   Ours is still up because our son, in the Navy, just recently returned from deployment.  They (he, his wife, and our 2 small granddaughters) finally get to come have Christmas with us this weekend!!

my tree and indoor decorations are taken down the day after christmas, but my outside lights stay up until the 28th or 29th. this year they stayed up until new year's day because our porch light was out and i didn't want to go to the store for lightbulbs (bad rain) so i kept the lights up so i could turn them on.

and it could always be worse. my next door neighbors have not taken their christmas lights down at all in the 3 and a half years that i have lived here. all year long, every single night i can see twinkling white icicle lights out my side windows.

I always take lights and decorations down New Year's Day or soon thereafter.

I take mine down after the 12th day of Christmas (January 6th) -- the Epiphany, or the date celebrated when the 3 Wise Men came to visit the baby Jesus. I love how people put up their decorations before advent even starts, sing carols like "The 12 Days of Christmas" and "We Three Kings", yet as soon as the New Years is celebrated, they're in a rush to take everything down before the Christmas season has officially ended. So basically I'll be taking mine down this weekend.

Usually around New Year's Day. I do still have my Peanuts Christmas Tree that I plan leaving out year round. Goes with the rest of my Peanuts collection.

i currently still have all my christmas decor still up..lol but plan on taking there down soon except for my white tree i wanna keep up and put differnt decor pertaining to the holiday

I kept mine till the 6th of january, I kept it up for the 12 days of Christmas which for me is the 12 days after christmas.

 well personally i think that they should be taken down after New Years is over. Thats how we've always done it in my family. Christmas is over get rid of them. The longer you keep them up' the sooner it seems that christmas will come around again.
