All the ones that "read" the bible and are atheist?
« on: January 05, 2011, 05:15:25 am »
Most followers of churches using the King James Bible feel they have the complete book with
all the writings used by the first church and the nation of Israel before it.
This work presents evidence that this is not true.

Read some more! Get the full story.

We have compiled a list of hundreds of books mentioned in, or directly associated
with, the Bible but not found in it.  Most books are linked for online access.

There is no guarantee that the books listed here are inspired works, or genuine books actually included in original versions of writings used by, and considered true by the Early Christian Church.

If there are writings in those books that are more then just discrepancies and actually contradict other books it's a forgery.

I believe the King James version of the Bible is a legitimate copy of the writings of the Apostles. It is possible that some writings may have been lost, however, the bible as it is now has enough revelation truth to guide anyone to God and salvation.

Actually, the KJV is probably the worst version of the Bible to use, in the sense of translation.  It's translated from the Vulgate, which is in Latin.  The original texts are in Greek and Hebrew.  So, you're going from one language, to another, to English.  It's bad enough translating from Greek to English or Hebrew to English (either way you lose something).  Going from those languages to another and then to English would be far worse.

They aren't included in the King James Version because they were not written in Hebrew and lacked divine authority.

In doing research I have found that the KJV is not the best translation. The English language used at the time the KJV was written was very limited and so some things can be minsunderstood in our modern day just reading from that version.

And language and meanings change over generations to the point that older translations like that become more and more difficult to understand. It's not bad per say, it's just not the closest to the original that most people think it is.

That is why it's important to "study" the translations of words in the old Hebrew and Greek.  Hebrew for the Old Testament, and Greek for the New.  Also, in that, is factored in the "times", "customs" of the day", and accepted "Law" practiced during the ages.  Also, you are dealing with different races, cultures, beliefs, and worship....good and bad.  Different time dispensations can greatly differ from one to another also.  I have a study Bible with the 8 most popular translations today.  I use it for study along with various other books.

I agree.  However, any believer worth their salt (pun intended) should be able to take any "major" translation of the Bible, and lead a searching soul to Salvation.

There's nothing wrong studying out "Truth", or seeking out a more perfect understanding, but not tearing apart of the Word to try to prove it's not as it is.....The infallible Word of God.

Nobody on here is recruiting anyone that I know of.  This forum is made up of all sorts of people with different beliefs or not.  It is a free country.  Believing in God, or not.....is a personal free choice.  As far as I can read, nobody is pressing anybody to go to their church.  You are mistaken.

This is a "Debate and Discuss" thread and subjects are offered up for just that.  Your opinion is welcome, just as those with an opposing side.  Welcome to the forum and Fusion Cash!

I am personally very grateful for the people who reached out to me when I was hurting and helped me realize how much God loves me. They were not recruiting me, but encouraging me. And I'm very thankful that some one loved me enough to invite me to church, and I am in awe of people with a passion and knowledge of scripture and that they share that with me.

But that's me I guess  :)

I read the Complete Jewish Bible written by David Stern, a Jew who lives in Israel and took
it from Scrolls... It is the best I have have ever read, easy to read & understand.
