Book lists
« on: December 23, 2010, 03:31:05 am »
I am really picky about what I read but recently I found two good books.

The Art of Racing in the Rain - Garth Stein
Hannah Coulter - William Berry

Does anybody have any additional recommendations of good books they have read lately?

Thanks Dreamon girl.  I'll check it out.  I joined a website where you can trade books and I'll see if it's available.  I have a couple of credits I can use.

Thanks for all the reccommendations. I looked these up and they do sound good.  My BF got me a Cruz Android ereader for Christmas and we have started looking for ebooks that we like.  This android does so much more than what I thought it would do.  He has made some modifications to it, he is a computer wiz, but I can check my email, surf the net, read books, play games and play music.  There is even an SD card for portable projects.  He got this one from Borders for just 109 dollars.  I love it.

Great way to find good books to make a list is to visit a couple of the book store websites and read the reviews.  Then if I don't want to buy them I go to the Library or there is a couple of book swaps online.  They have worked good for me.

Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon- if I were stranded on a desert island, these would be the books I would have with me! The first book is called Outlander- it's a mix of history, romance and fantasy. Hands-down the best books I've read! I own them all but my bf just told me he got me a Kindle for christmas so now I'm going to re-buy them to put on there lol.
Also, Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt is a great book...it's like listening to your grampa tell a story about growing up, but interesting
And don't skip the classics like Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility- Jane Austen is the original chick-lit author
Oh! And anything by Marian Keyes (speaking of chick-lit) she's great too!

Jodi Picault has some very good books

If you want some light, funny reading, do the Janet Evanovich books
