That sounds like safe sex to me... If you want to know the answer to this question, ask a clergyman, minister, etc.
I did some studying on this, it's not the act itself but the reasons why your doing it. Masturbation is by nature a sexual act and Jesus said...
Matthew 5:27-28 READS
27 “YOU heard that it was said, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to YOU that everyone that keeps on looking at a woman so as to have a passion for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
When someone masturbates do they have a passion for the opposite sex in mind?
So masturbation is not sinful for homosexual men and heterosexual women? Sweet... I'm safe, then.
Homosexuality in general is a sin in god's eyes(yes I know it's not political correct but i'm not trying to run for office am I ) amy read my final sentence again.
When someone masturbates do they have a passion for the opposite sex in mind. This refers to both sexes as having any kind of sexual activity outside of marriage is comdemned as a sin.
@Mkblack: I've studied with the witnesses all my life but i'm not baptized as a JW, i'm still studying with them and attend their meetings etc.
First, its called a joke. Second, homosexuality in general is not a sin in g-d's eyes. There is only one verse that could even be remotely interpreted as anti-homosexual, and it does not declare homosexuality in females as sinful, only that man shall not lie with man as with women as it is contrary to his nature, which can be interpreted differently to different people. Don't put a blanket statement on it...it is not up for you to decide which interpretation is the correct one for everyone.
Besides that, by what you've stated in your original reply, if someone is jerking off just because it feels good without any thought in their mind, then it is not sinful. So then, we could go so far as to take that to other sins, couldn't we? The motivation behind the act does not have any bearing on whether the act is appropriate or not, IMO. If I kill a man for fun or if I kill a man because he hurt my child, that man is still dead... my motivation does not erase the act. That is why I believe personal interpretation of the holy books is of utmost importance. Morality and religion is a personal thing when it comes to specifics such as this, even though there is a common morality as well.
Even atheists agree that Leviticus is hard on homosexuals, also ask your Rabbi why Sodom and Gormorrah had the word
SODOM in it. I know you don't like the NT but here's a strong verse about the
FEMALES AND MALES regrading homosexuality.
Romans 1:26-27 READS 26 That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; 27 and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error.
"The motivation behind the act does not have any bearing on whether the act is appropriate or not."
Abram(which Abraham was called before he came into a covenant with God) asked his wife Sarai(which Sarah was called before her husband went into a covenant with God) Asked his wife sarai to lie and nothing happened to him let's read Abrams
MOTIVATIONGenesis 12:12-13 READS
12 So it is bound to happen that the Egyptians will see you and will say, ‘This is his wife.’ And they will certainly kill me, but you they will preserve alive. 13 Please say you are my sister, in order that it may go well with me on your account, and my soul will be certain to live due to you.”
So he asked his wife to lie for they can live.
"my motivation does not erase the act"
Agreed however repentance might.
