You seem to be disgruntled with your home phone service!
Have you tried Magic Jack? I've heard a lot of good testimonials about it.

I too have comcast, with the cable, phone and internet.  With the phone you can call anywhere in the USA for free, no long distance charges, I like that.

We have CenturyLink with phone & internet - no issues with the company.   Our phone line does go out when it rains hard - it will start working again in about 24 hours - very strange.... :dontknow:

We are considering switching from AT&T to Comcast.  Has anyone had issues with phone clarity or delays?  I've had a land line all my life, so going digital will be new for me.   Will I be able to view caller id on my phone or will I have to have special equipment?  Also, can you use comcast with a fax machine?  Trying to get answers from comcast has been a nightmare.  They always send us to a sales person who doesn't know the technical answers.

I see no real reason to bother with home phone service any more. My husband and I both have cell phones and use VoIP rendering home phone service pointless.

I haven't had home phone service for a long time.  Did you try a cell phone or magic jack?

I don't have a home phone now.   I only use my cells.  I never dreamed this day would come but this year with a move it came naturally.  I could have added it to my internet/tv service from knology for nothing but it didn't seem to make since with so much extra on all the taxes etc.  Over $10 just in extra fees and taxes.

Only thing I miss the phone line for is the fax machine.  I don't use it that often but the convenience was great.  Does anyone know of a way to use my scanner but send the scan like a fax to another fax phone number through the computer lines?
