NO. They're not pushing anything down my throat. Can't exactly do that without my permission. They're gonna make ads for what they want. Just like with anything. It can't be pushed down your throat unless you allow it. Have you seen the stuff on television these days? I mean, seriously? Network television is horrible with the stuff they allow on there. I'd much rather see an ad for alcohol than the news showing you how make a mobile meth lab. just my opinion though...

Life is all about making choices and its a person's choice whether they choose to drink and smoke or not. Advertising is just another way for companies to get their product out there and sell it. If they make it look more enticing a person may be inclined to try it or not. Whether we choose to drink or smoke we make the choice. Nobody is forced to do something they don't want to do. Thats whats so great about this country the freedom to choose.

Exactly.

Don't think about it to much, I feel every one has a right to say yes or no. I don't drink or smoke.

I smoke, but not much of a drinker. I know that both are not healthy for you. But atleast smoking while driving, hasn't caused too many accidents that I'm aware of.... unlike drinking. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!

Thank God, I don't smoke or drink anymore on a regular basis. I do keep a bottle of Vodka for Excruciating pain, when nothing else will work.

I used to do both. They are terrible for your health, but so is the flouride in the water we drink.

haha... yeah, I'm uninformed... hahaha  ::)

I, for one, don't sit my *bleep* in front of a tv long enough to let a subliminal message work on me. I'm sorry but my will power is more strong than any stupid subliminal message. If I don't want to drink(just one of the many ways they might try to brain wash you hahaha) then I won't. Period. That's the problem with people these days, always blaming someone or something else for they're problems, (drinking problems, smoking problems, being over weight) Take responsibility for your own actions people.

I just don't understand smoking cigarettes at all. I can't stand how many people will go to the grocery store with all these food stamps and then buy a few cases of beer and a carton of cigarettes. If you can buy all that (it's so expensive) then why are they getting to use tax payer's dollars for their food?

My boyfriend and I went to DC recently and this homeless guy started following us complaining about how he was so hungry.. while smoking a cigarette. They were charging like $7 for a little box of cigarettes around there, and he could easily have gotten two cheap meals for that, but no, he's going to buy cigarettes and then beg for food.

A girl that used to go to the same high school as us recently had a baby and she went to the grocery store and when in line she started complaining about how she really needed to buy formula, but, oh, the food stamps hadn't come in yet! Then she and her boyfriend purchased alcohol and cigarettes. Lovely.

I don't get people. :[

Actually it's "The love of money is the root of all evil" just saying. I smoke on a fairly regular basis. It was one of those crazy periods in my life and I started smoking. Now I am hooked and I want to quit. I am working on it. I don't drink all that much. Maybe once every 6 months. If I do it isn't much since I have stomach issues.

Maybe someone gave him the cigarettes???

I think that is with everything out there!  The advertisers for these products try there best to get you to buy, buy, buy!

I smoked for quite a few years, but gave it up.  I actually went to a hypnosis session with a few hundred people and it worked.  I wasn't sure I could even be hypnosized.  Have you ever been with someone who is dying of lung cancer from smoking?  My husband was a smoker for life and it got him in the end.  One of my sons-in-law is still a smoker and coughs until he about passes out.  His father and grandfather died from lung cancer and his mother had complications from smoking and also died.  I am thankful that I live in a state where smoking is not allowed in most places.
