USA Service Dog Euthanized!
« on: November 27, 2010, 09:18:39 pm »
"Target," a bomb sniffing service dog was sent home after serving his country only to be Euthanize by a shelter. Like his name sake, he was literally,

TARGETED FOR TERMINATION!  :o

The SHELTER, that MURDERED this Hero, Soldier, claims that the dog didn't have any tags.

I heard this information on mpr Thanksgiving weekend. Does anybody know anything about this incident? I can't think clearly b/c right now, I'm so mad I'm seeing Red!!!!! >:(

I just looked up more information on Youtube. The story is that Target was in the family's back yard, was not use to being confined & got away. The dog was found & sent to the shelter. The family sent out information to find Target but the person given this task thought that the shelter was closed on weekends.
What I can't understand is why the shelter didn't give him at least 5 days f/4 they murdered the dog! Advertising a found dog in the news would have saved Target!  I don't know what that kind of shelter they are running in that state but here in Fla our shelters r mostly no kill or they are given at lease a couple of weeks at the same time the shelter advertise for donations to save the stray dogs. This is so sad, the 4 yr old daughter is asking her dad to please take out the poison in Target so that she can have her dog back.   :'( :'( :'(:crybaby2: :crybaby2: :crybaby2:

:crybaby2:This makes me wanna cry! Here in Ne. the animals are at least given a few weeks before being "put down", I saved a puppy when I moved here, found him in the ditch, he was cold, starving and had been dumped because whoever had him before did not want the responsibility of having him,  :BangHead:so I am trying to figure out which is the worse of the two "evils", it just was not right for this dog to be "put down" in such a short time and maybe the society needs to give contact information for weekends (for a situation such as this) if nobody can be reached at the office. :dontknow:

Loose dogs will be picked up by animal control. And animal control will put them down. If your dog is missing, it is your job to go look for it. Put up flyers, call animal control, the pound and animal shelters.

You need to learn to contain your dog. There is a leash law down here in florida. I have been bitten by a dog, so I don't feel bad if a loose dog gets picked up and the owner doesn't claim them.
::) ::) ::) ::) Honey, you completely MISSED the bus on this one & I'm too tired to explain it to you.  :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:  :BangHead:
