Go with what you know, don't try to be someone or something you're not. If you aren't creative, then find a more meaningful way to go about it. Play to your strengths & find ways to incorporate things your partner is fond of.

A cousin of mine has been w/ his girl for approx. 2 1/2 years and they have a son together. He decided to take her out to a really nice dinner, just the two of them. But he had their baby sitter bring their son up to the restaurant and stay hidden, toward the end of the meal he excused himself & went to get his son. When they came walking up to the table, she looked down at her son & saw that his shirt read: "Will you marry me?" and he was holding the ring.
How cute is that??

Oh! And she said yes.

I'm not sure necessarily when the best time to propose is, but I'm kind of a girly girl. The perfect proposal to me, would be where we went on our first date or where they asked me out for the first time. Sometimes I find that guys don't always remember that and to me it says a lot if they can. Guys just have to be careful not to be cliche.
