Ways to Propose?
« on: November 17, 2010, 11:20:09 am »
Marriage is considered to be one of the most important issues in the lives of most individuals and the hunt for the perfect partner can always be a daunting task, considering the fact that there is nothing known as the ‘perfect’ partner! So, when do you think is the right time to pop the question and how would you propose?

My husband took me to this beatiful outdoor garden  and poped the question at a scenic location, when I was least expecting. The setting was perfect with the backdrop of nature and nothing could be more romantic then being away from the noisy city.

There was a local guy that arranged hay bales into the words marry me then took his girlfriend up in the crop duster for her to see it. I thought that was pretty creative.

I think it should be extremely creative or pretty simple.  A weak attempt at a creative proposal just doesn't work.

my husband took me to dinner at a little quaint place where we had our first date - he knew the place well and knew the owner/operator.
We ordered... he then went to talk to the owner and told me he was changing his order.  We got free appetizers and wine (not crazy since he knew the guy) and then we finished our meals.... the owner came out with a sample platter of desserts -- I told him I was stuffed and couldn't even think of any more food -- he handed me a dessert plate and said "but you really should try this one" -- on the plate, inside a fancy napkin display was a ring......  My husband then grabbed my hands across the table and spilled his heart and proposed!  :)

I've heard of putting the ring in an ice cube and then serving a drink. Then pop the question as it melts.

My husband took me to this very expensive restaurant and we had wine and everything was great, but no proposal. I was confused because I completely expected it. This was when we were on vacation visiting our families. When we got back to Hawaii, we were sitting on our couch one night drinking wine (cheaper this time...lol) and watching tv, he pulled the ring box out of the couch and proposed. He told me that he had to ask my dad first, so that is why he didn't ask me at the restaurant...lol

Funny thing is he really is NOT romantic.  It was a great proposal and I love him dearly - we just celebrated 4 years of marriage, but some of the romance is gone already :)  He got me though -
