How to get free phone number

A long time ago I thought I saw a way to get a free voicemail phone number somewhere on this forum.  I can not find it now. Can someone help?

I read that one can be obtained at aimphoneline dot com. However when I tried to do so, I ran into so much MSN and AIM Messenger junk I ran out of patience. Perhaps you will have better luck, if you do let me know,  ???. Its free PC to PC, and you pick up your voice mail through your email. I decided to disable my txt msg capabilities and use my pay as you go phone. Its never turned on except in an emergency. HTH,

There is a way to get a phone number through Yahoo Messenger.However i believe you must purchase their phone out service.Start with a $10.00 min. purchase. It's 1cents a min. anywhere in the U.S., and does include free computer to computer calling.It's very easy to set up,and i find my calls very clear.Headset w/mic.is needed.

the one you are referring to is no longer avaible. they ended it the end of dec.
