Hi Kim,

I'm glad the decorating went well.  That will be great if the group at school takes up enough to help the ladies with those things.  Perfect timing, too, with Christmas coming up.

Good work getting more hats and homework done yesterday.  I know you'll get more done today.  It's funny how homework becomes part of the routine of life without realizing it.  I remember doing correspondence classes as well as at school classes where homework was a constant in my already busy life of raising kids and teaching.  It was a relief when I was done, but sometimes I miss taking classes and achieving another goal with it.

Your supper meal from last night sounds very good.  I love hamburger meat, especially fried up with salt and pepper, and any other salt I want.  I always take a little out for myself to splurge on before fixing the rest with whatever we are having.  And yes, cheap but filling is our way right now, too!

It's very cloudy and damp chilly here today.  The clouds are blocking the heat from going up to 70 so far, which is fine with me.

I'm glad you don't have a headache today - hope you and Bob both are feeling better.  I'm still having a puny day but there is some improvement, so that's good.

I hope to finally actually play a couple of games today.  I did get in last night on a couple and managed to only send/accept requests for gifts.  I just didn't feel like actually playing the games.  I agree, it doesn't take long to use up energy, especially when restocking and recharging.

Tomorrow must be a good day for me, I demand it of myself, lol.  We've (mainly me when they are all at work) got to do some cleaning, vacuuming, dusting (I can't do this), and getting things set up for the girls for Friday.  I hope everything still works out for the girls to come - I am so looking forward to having them.

Hope to see you on FB today.  Have a nice Sunday.

Julie :)

Dianna, those sound like an excellent idea!  I used to fix my daughter's hair with all kinds of cutesy bows, pins, flowers, etc., when she was small.  Now I've got granddaughters (ages 7 and 3) and hopefully can get some for them.

I'm so sorry about that tooth - you have been suffering too long with that thing.  I am glad your hubby is supportive for you with that.  I hope the bayer advanced keeps helping you until you go back.

Hope your week is going well otherwise!

Hello Girls...
I came up with this awesome idea yesterday..(while i was in pain with darn tooth again) I used to make like little bobbie pin accents for my daughters hair when she was a baby they would slide in by ponytails, buns or braids and almost look like the were sitting on hair did it with flowers and all kinds of stuff and they were so cute so I think I am going to make some up,have my oldest daughter model them and sell them call them like Diannas accent hair pins..What do ya think? when you see them they look so cute..I figured I could sell them as sets of 8..Today was a little better with teeth still hurt last night was really ruff almost thought a er visit may have to happen..The pain was really unbearable..Hubby had to calm me down I was crying so hard..Got some bayer advanced care seems to be working so I hope it will work for sometime..I hope all is well with you guys..Love ya Dianna

Dianna,  The hair pins sound neat.  That might be something I'd be interested in for myself as I'm letting my hair grow out and I'm constantly pinning it away from my face.

I'm so sorry about your teeth.  Have you ever tried clove oil?  You can put a bit of cotton on a toothpick, dip it in the oil and either pack the tooth or rub it around the gum line.  Of course the real deal would be to get the teeth fixed so that they don't hurt anymore!  When is that going to be taken care of?

[/quote/]

Kim

Hey Doll congrats on your test..And the pins are so cute I love them and my girls are stealing lots as I make them they loved them as babies and they have so many uses in the hair..yeah clove oil is like really bad I did it a few nights ago and was on floor crying and screaming in pain I think the nerve is to exposed..I was so sick the last 3 days yuck!In Feb is when they will be all done and taken care of..I hope all is well with you doll..Love ya off to post the new stuff on craft page in a bit! Love Di

Morning ladies,

Dianna I saw all of your goodies and they are awesome.  Really cute.  I wish I had more disposable income as I certainly would order something from you.  My cousin is making candles and capes too and I don't have the money to purchase from her either.  It makes me feel bad as I'd really like to splurge and help my friends out.

Julie,

I saw you were online playing some of the games last night.  Thanks so much for the butter!  I think there are a few things in the games that you can't get for yourself unless you buy them or get them from a friend.  Do you know?

I fixed the turkey yesterday and there is quite a bit of leftover.  My son called and his landlord fussed about the dog so we met him half way and brought her back home.  She is a barker, and a shrill bark at that, so I suspect that was why they told them she had to go.  Anyhow we're back to two dogs and one cat.  Nala, the cat is getting bolder and has taken up residence on a stool in the kitchen.  She's wider than the stool so when you see her it looks as though she is suspended in air.

I woke up again today with a headache.  My shoulders are real sore, I think from being at the computer so much, and I think that's where the headaches are coming from.  Bob started rubbing my shoulders yesterday, just being nice, and I realized how much pain I was holding in there.

Do you have air cleaners?  I think that may help with some of the household allergens.  When are you getting the girls and for how long will you have them.  Will you get some one on one time to talk to your son without "her" being there?

Off to wallop, chop and mine.  I'll be stopping by your virtual kingdoms too.

Later ladies!

Hi Kim,

On these games, I find I can help others and help myself get things by sending free gifts to other friends, according to not only what they need but what I need.  If I need wheat, corn, or berries, then I'll send several wheats to friends, several corn to others, and several berries to others.  They will usually need those items anyway, and that way, they will accept theirs and then send some back to me.  If the items I need aren't in there, then I'll just have to request what I need and hope they'll send them.  Sometimes it takes awhile to build up the amount they require to complete a quest or building.  Sometimes, too many, if you ask me, lol.  Oh, and you're welcome for the butter, lol!

Does your son's dog seem to like being back with you?  That's cute about Nala taking up more residence and claiming the stool.  Kind of reminds me of the cat picture I posted once where it looks like he's got no legs and is a furball speeding through the air!

I'm sorry about your headaches.  Like you said, maybe spending so much time on the computer or studying is catching up with you.  Holidays are coming, money is tight, school is heavy - those things, including stress, can mess with you like that.  I hope they get better.

We have the special allergen-free air conditioner filters.  They work pretty good.  We probably shouldn't open the windows but when it's cold out I love them open and breathe okay.  For spring like weather, though, I can't handle them open.

I'm meeting Randal half-way between here and there to pick up the girls on Friday night.  He can't leave to bring them until he gets off from work, and she's not going to do anything to help, so we have to wait on him.  They are going to a Jaguar's game on Sunday afternoon, so he and I won't be able to meet to give the girls back until later Sunday night.  I can tell he's not really ready to talk too much more to me or anyone yet - at least he's opened up a tad, though.  That's all I can really ask at this point, plus making sure we get to have the girls.

For Christmas, I got each of the girls a mini pillow pet to match the larger one they have from last Christmas.  I know someone in England who makes beaded bracelets and ordered each of the girls one (My grandmother used to visit England a lot, through the DAR - Daughters of the American Revolution; and would give me things from England every time she went.  I just wanted to do the same at least with these bracelets.  I got the younger one a kind-of night light for her bedroom.  It's about 8" by 5" and when you turn it on it looks like a fish underwater scene that's animated, plus it's 360* around.  It's simulated with the fish swimming against the ocean landscape.  For the older one, I got a Teach and Talk Exploration Laptop, that has 60+ built in games, a standard smaller keyboard, and a little mouse.  The games and activities include spelling, math, music, geography, wild nature, space, inventions, etc.  I have a stocking for each that will be full of fun little things.

We are going to ask Randal, though, to make sure Bon does not throw these things out.  She's done that from the time they were babies.  Some of us gave Bon a baby shower for the first one, and if she didn't like the stuff she threw it out.  There were some very nice things and clothing there but because she didn't like girly stuff it was history.  This was when she was living with us when Randal was deployed.  We went behind her and salvaged the clothes.  We let the older one wear them when we could and saved them for her little sister when they would stay with us before everything happened.  Bon also threw toys out, like the toddler sized legos, for example.  We salvaged those and brought them up here for their toy boxes.  I had a couple of friends get upset with me because she never let the older one wear the clothes they had given her, even though it wasn't my fault.  But I would make sure I would dress her in their clothes when we would all meet up.

Okay, enough.  I can't believe I'm just rambling on and on here.  I've got to get going on a couple of things and make a couple of phone calls (doctors.)  Take care, don't wallop too many bears, and I'll be in later to help chop some vines or trees, lol!

Julie  :)

Julie,

Thanks for the tips on the games.  Expect some gifts and let me know what you need and I'll try to help out.  I usually try not to send things because I feel as though I'm overly bothering people.

I think Sunshine is happy to be home.  I've had her since she was a pup and Indy is her mother so being at my son's was probably trying on her.  She is technically his dog but only has lived away from me for maybe a month total in her entire 4 years of life so to her I'm sure I'm her mother.  I helped to deliver her and she was the first born of the first litter so I've always had a soft spot for her anyhow.  However, she has a shrill bark and is the one most likely to wet the rug.  :)

Reading about Bon and her antics just sets my teeth on edge.  I've never met her but I don't like her and she seems totally evil.

The gifts you bought the girls sound really nice, especially the bracelets!  Somehow you have to convey to them that you'd see them much more often if things were different.  I don't know how to do that with a child without making them feel as though they are in the middle, so it's a fine line you have to walk.

I understand why he wouldn't want to leave her but surely he could put his foot down and put a stop to her insanity.  Yes I said insanity as I cannot understand nor condone someone acting the way she does.  I just get outraged when people act so blatantly rude and evil.

About the allergies....I read somewhere recently that one of the most potent allergens is our fabric softener.  I love the smell of Downey and use it liberally but sometimes I start to sneezing.  I don't think many people pay attention to all of the little things around the house that contain caustic chemicals.  I try not to use aerosol sprays and try to use natural products but as I'm sure you are aware the natural products are usually more expensive and I'm a generic purchaser due to money flow being low.

We have Amya today so she'll be here in about an hour.  Bob is trying to find her a specific electronic tablet for Christmas and the local Walmarts are out of stock.  We are going to Indy this weekend and I'll try there but he may have to order it online.  I know it's a Leappad but not just the book reader.  I can't think of the name now.

Gotta run as I slept later than usual.

TTYL,

Kim

Hello Di,

Congrats to your daughter for getting student of the month!  That's great!  It's nice how they have a breakfast and ceremony for her.  I'm glad your tooth is giving you some peace from pain - I hope it continues right on.  Chili sounds like a great fall/winter meal.  I think we're having spaghetti tonight.  Take care and talk to you soon!

Hi Kim,

Nah, you aren't bothering anyone when you send them gifts.  They end up doing the same with you.  In the end, it helps both ways, and that way you are building a stock of things you may also need later.  I know in Ravenwood, I need wheat, turkey legs, cranberries, pecan pie in order to finish a couple of buildings.  Everyone usually needs butter, corn, sticks, lemons, strawberries, and catnip to keep the food stands going to bring in earnings.  Any of the King Arthur type things are real popular right now (like Merlin's ring, magic hat, etc.), and the opera type items.  You can't go wrong there.  Let me know of things you need!

One of the things with Ravenwood right now that I'm not too thrilled about is that it's going on Christmas and they are still into Halloween and Thanksgiving.  They are just now starting vampire things and I'm wanting to start Christmas and winter things.  Oh well....  I guess we'll get to Christmas in January, lol.

That's good that Sunshine is happy to be home with you.  That's neat you helped with her delivery.  That's a true bond in itself.  I hope she'll do okay with not wetting the rug.  I hope Amya had a nice day today with both of you.  That's a different routine for her that she probably enjoys.  I hope you can find the tablet for her that you're looking for.

You know, I've never even thought of the fabric softeners having allergens.  I'll have to check into that.

I agree with you about Bon.  To be honest, I'm just not sure how even Serenity is going to act towards me at first.  If they've told her lies, then I'm sure she'll be standoffish at first.  At the same time, though, she and I have already had little discussions of questions she's had about other things they've told her.  I've told her to never fear asking me anything she's not sure about.  We have always had a bond and I'm going to lean on that for now and I know once they're up here, having fun, opening gifts, playing, seeing the horses and cows, we'll be fine.

Yesterday afternoon, my neighbor brought some chocolate chip pancake cookies (dipped in syrup) over that she had gotten on sale at the store she works at.  They were small and so I heated 4 of them in the microwave and ate them.  They weren't too bad but not something I would go out of my way to buy.  Well, about 20 minutes or so later, I got horribly sick.  I'm still sick today from that.  I also have a raw throat and laryngitis now from being sick.  I did notice that they were a certain price, marked down to 2 for $5.00, and then marked down to 50 cents.  I wish I had looked at the expiration date but I had thrown them out so no one else would eat them.  I called my neighbor and told her not to eat them and to please let the manager know.

Have a great evening!

Dianna,

Good for your daughter!  I've been looking at the stuff you've been making and it is all so cute.  Hope the tooth behaves and that you too have a good day.

Julie...

I'm so sorry you got sick eating those cookie/pancake things.  I never heard of them before.

I sent you some gifts too.  I've been playing those games way too much.  Addictive.  The homework has been kind of light lately.  Last night I finished another hat and then started making slippers.  Oh and I need gustones the worse right now.  :)

Amya spent the entire afternoon playing on Nick Jr on Bob's computer.  He ordered her tablet thing from Amazon and they sent him a shipping confirmation last night.  It was 5 for shipping but the price wasn't any different than in the stores.  He probably saved that much in gas not having to drive from store to store.  He needs to build her a pc out of the scrap parts he has laying around here as neither of us really want her to play games on our computers for fear of what 4 year olds can click on and destroy.

Love the name Serenity!  It just makes me so mad that a mother would even involve her children in any adult dispute but especially towards another family member and even worse...their own grand-mother!  Can you wallop Bon's?

Well I"m going to try to get some productive work in this morning so I'm off for now.  Have a great day.

Hi Alan.  It's nice to meet you.  That's a bummer about your pipefitter job going down with the economy.  It's neat how you and your wife work together about taking care of the house and kids.  There aren't a whole lot of flexible couples like that.  That's a good idea about saving for a date night each month.  :)

Hi Kim,

I'm still sick today.  I haven't keep food down, but have managed some hot tea for my throat, and gatorade for hydration.  I hope this passes fast.  I hate being sick.

Randal called today.  He said both girls have bad colds and are real congested.  With this cold snap that moved in this afternoon, instead of near 80 yesterday afternoon, it's steadily been dropping all afternoon and is around 49 right now, with tomorrow only going to around 52.  So he said they are keeping the girls inside for the weekend.  I can understand that, if he's being honest with me.  If I wasn't sick like I am, I would be more upset than I am at the moment, because I was worrying about me not doing well while here.  He said he will call me next weekend to work something out again.

I'll try and send some gustones later.  I may pop in and out of each game, like last night, to only send and accept requests, if only to help my neighbors.

It sounds like Amya had fun with Nick Jr.  When the girls were here in February, Serenity like to play on my laptop with Disney Playhouse.  You are still doing well getting things done for gifts - keep up the great work!

Going to go for now and lay back for a little.  See ya later!

Julie,

Awww...Sorry you are sick and also about the delay in seeing the girls.  I hope you feel better soon and as you said...hope he calls for arrangements for next week.  You would do better though if you and they are feeling 100 percent.

I didn't get anything else done last night on the gift making.  I'm just so tired and depressed right now.  I did play a few games but then kick myself in the butt for doing that and nothing else.

We need to pull ourself back up girlfriend.

Take care of Julie today and hopefully things will improve soon.

Kim
