Hi Kim,
On these games, I find I can help others and help myself get things by sending free gifts to other friends, according to not only what they need but what I need. If I need wheat, corn, or berries, then I'll send several wheats to friends, several corn to others, and several berries to others. They will usually need those items anyway, and that way, they will accept theirs and then send some back to me. If the items I need aren't in there, then I'll just have to request what I need and hope they'll send them. Sometimes it takes awhile to build up the amount they require to complete a quest or building. Sometimes, too many, if you ask me, lol. Oh, and you're welcome for the butter, lol!
Does your son's dog seem to like being back with you? That's cute about Nala taking up more residence and claiming the stool. Kind of reminds me of the cat picture I posted once where it looks like he's got no legs and is a furball speeding through the air!
I'm sorry about your headaches. Like you said, maybe spending so much time on the computer or studying is catching up with you. Holidays are coming, money is tight, school is heavy - those things, including stress, can mess with you like that. I hope they get better.
We have the special allergen-free air conditioner filters. They work pretty good. We probably shouldn't open the windows but when it's cold out I love them open and breathe okay. For spring like weather, though, I can't handle them open.
I'm meeting Randal half-way between here and there to pick up the girls on Friday night. He can't leave to bring them until he gets off from work, and she's not going to do anything to help, so we have to wait on him. They are going to a Jaguar's game on Sunday afternoon, so he and I won't be able to meet to give the girls back until later Sunday night. I can tell he's not really ready to talk too much more to me or anyone yet - at least he's opened up a tad, though. That's all I can really ask at this point, plus making sure we get to have the girls.
For Christmas, I got each of the girls a mini pillow pet to match the larger one they have from last Christmas. I know someone in England who makes beaded bracelets and ordered each of the girls one (My grandmother used to visit England a lot, through the DAR - Daughters of the American Revolution; and would give me things from England every time she went. I just wanted to do the same at least with these bracelets. I got the younger one a kind-of night light for her bedroom. It's about 8" by 5" and when you turn it on it looks like a fish underwater scene that's animated, plus it's 360* around. It's simulated with the fish swimming against the ocean landscape. For the older one, I got a Teach and Talk Exploration Laptop, that has 60+ built in games, a standard smaller keyboard, and a little mouse. The games and activities include spelling, math, music, geography, wild nature, space, inventions, etc. I have a stocking for each that will be full of fun little things.
We are going to ask Randal, though, to make sure Bon does not throw these things out. She's done that from the time they were babies. Some of us gave Bon a baby shower for the first one, and if she didn't like the stuff she threw it out. There were some very nice things and clothing there but because she didn't like girly stuff it was history. This was when she was living with us when Randal was deployed. We went behind her and salvaged the clothes. We let the older one wear them when we could and saved them for her little sister when they would stay with us before everything happened. Bon also threw toys out, like the toddler sized legos, for example. We salvaged those and brought them up here for their toy boxes. I had a couple of friends get upset with me because she never let the older one wear the clothes they had given her, even though it wasn't my fault. But I would make sure I would dress her in their clothes when we would all meet up.
Okay, enough. I can't believe I'm just rambling on and on here. I've got to get going on a couple of things and make a couple of phone calls (doctors.) Take care, don't wallop too many bears, and I'll be in later to help chop some vines or trees, lol!
Julie
