Hi Kim,

It sounds like you are coming along pretty good with your draws.  That's nice of the guy to volunteer to come back.  See?  You must be doing something right for him to volunteer that!

This thing with Amazon is much easier than I thought it would be.  I could probably do pretty well with all of the books I've got (or willing to let go of, lol.)  I've ordered a lot from them, including old and rare books from my childhood that I searched for and found.

So you are an only child, too.  It definitely had its advantages and disadvantages, for sure.  I was the oldest grandchild on my father's side and so they pampered me and doted on me, as I did on them.  There were so many cousins from my mom's side since she was the next-to-the youngest.  I just kind of blended in.  Summers were great, though.  I always spent 2 weeks with my favorite aunt and uncle (on my dad's side,) and then a month with my grandparents (on my mom's side.)  I had such a wonderful time and hated to have to come back home.  Another reason I liked spending time with all of them was that my dad couldn't mess with me.  I hate even saying that, but truth is truth.

Veronica has enjoyed this week dressing up for the kids.  They have enjoyed it, too, seeing their bus drivers taking part.  I'll have to check with her about the pictures - she said that she and her friend were taking each others pictures.  Tomorrow is red, white, and blue day.  Speaking of, how did your Halloween Project go today?  I bet you looked great!  Not to mention a half day, too!  Good luck on your test tomorrow!

We aren't sure where Randal is right now.  We do know the ship is on the way back home, and he was to have flown out from it already.  After debriefing and when he gets home, I guess we'll find out when we'll get to see him and the girls.  I can hardly wait.  I just feel so bad for what he will have to deal with when he does get home. :(

I hope you got some batches done today!  I also hope you enjoyed your early afternoon at home.  Our pastor's mom and dad are coming for dinner tomorrow night, so you know how it is about trying to clean and prepare!  That will be most of my day, tomorrow.  But I'm glad they're coming - so will Veronica's dog.  She loves Sara and Sara loves her right back!

Have a fabulous Friday and a super weekend (even though I'll be talking to you before the weekend!)

Julie  :)

Julie,

Your childhood sounds a bit like mine.  I won't go into details on here but perhaps we can talk by email.  I had a horrible step-father.  Abusive to both my mother and me.  Physically and mentally.  I was happy spending summers with my aunt, on my dad's side of the family, with her 4 children or with my dad's great-aunt on her farm.  I loved my mom but she was always working.

I'm sure you will enjoy entertaining tonight even though the preparations can get a little frantic.

Today is Halloween day at school so I have to put on a little more makeup than usual.  We're having lunch at school too so it's nice not having to pack a lunch.

I spent all evening working on my English modules, writing down sentences and marking them in a book for the structure, and after what seems like hundreds of tries I finally got a 100 percent on appositives.  Geesh that was a tough one.  I have another test this morning with medical abbreviations, which is a retest because the entire class did so poorly so I have to study a bit more.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do this weekend besides studying and the regular homework.  I'll find something to keep my mind occupied though.

Good luck today with the cleanup.  Enjoy your evening.  I'll be talking to you.

Kim

It's rainy and gloomy here today, too.  I'm glad you are feeling better, but just remember to take it easy and just do what you can when you can.  Don't push yourself, okay?  That's neat you are making your kids' costumes!  What are they going to be?

I saw your thread and responded in it about your husbands' paintings being sold.  That is fantastic!  I know you are proud!  Now you are both in the "Craft Business."  I hope both of you continue to do well!  Take care of yourself!  Talk with you soon!

Hi Kim,

Happy Friday!  I hope today is fun and goes well with the contest!  Good luck on the re-test today, too.  That is great getting 100% on the appositives.  That has to be tough.

I agree - maybe we can talk about the childhood issues through email.  It's hard to talk about it in the first place, but it does help when someone understands and has been there.  So sorry you had to go through some rough times.

Yes, you will definitely find things to do over the weekend!  You have several things sitting on the backburner just ready and waiting to be pulled out and used, lol.  That's good, though!

I'm taking a break to write this for a bit.  Things are almost done for tonight.  I hope you have a great evening and a nice day tomorrow!

Talk with you later!

Good morning Dianna,

Hope your energy levels come back up.  Be sure to post pictures of the kid's costumes so we can see what you came up with.  Is trick or treating tonight or Monday for your kids?  We live so far in the country nobody comes here but I miss seeing the costumes while handing out candy.

Have a good weekend and hope you gets lots done.

Julie,

The dressup at school went well.  Funny thing though....I'm all made up and decided to go to Pat Catan's (a local craft place) during my lunch break to pick up some crafting things because I had a friend coming to spend the night and we are going to do some crafting today and have a study session.  I get my things and go to put my bag in the car and here I am with another flat tire!  I'm standing in the parking lot looking like a dead person with an air compressor pumping up my tire.  Did we say EMBARRASSING!?

My friend stayed last night but like the big dummies we are we spent the evening studying!  She was on my computer and I was on Bob's and we're talking between the two rooms.  We did put a movie on about 10 but the next thing I know Rose is snoring and I'm dozing so I turned the movie off and got her up to go to bed.  Probably more of the same today.

Yes the childhood issues are hard to talk about.  That was why they suggested I go through EMDR therapy because they consider what happened to me to be part of my PTSD.  I don't know if they are going to pursue that therapy or not.  I think it does help to talk about it though.

I hope your dinner went well.  Fill me in when you get the time.

Kim

Hi Kim,

Your situation with the flat tire is definitely funny!  It seems like those kinds of things always happen when you don't want them to, lol.  I imagine you were a sight, for sure, trying to fix your tire.  I'm sorry you had the flat tire, though - but thankfully, you tried to prepare for the worst like that while Bob is gone.

I'm glad you had some old timey girlfriend time, even if you two kind of had an early night - you were plumb-tuckered out, with everything lately!  I'm sure the studying will pay off, though!  I hope you both get to work on your crafts today.  It's fun when someone is helping!  :)

Our evening went well.  We all had a great visit and a quick-to-prepare meal.  We had roast beef sandwiches, so other than getting the meat, bread, cheese, and lettuce, I only had to slice tomatoes and onions.  Dessert was peanut butter cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies - which is a couple of their favorites, and the oatmeal raisin is Roddy's favorite.  Adam, Veronica, and I love peanut butter cookies.  I had ordered a couple of buckets of cookie dough to help a middle school fundraiser for a young friend of ours.

Today is nice and so much cooler again since the cold front has finally come through.  My breathing is better finally, too, since the front settled in.  Still coughing, though.  I'm taking Benadryl today to try and help with the allergies end of it.

I've had all of my teacher items, books, bulletin board sets, dvd's, and such, stored at a storage unit for a year and a half now.  Today we're cleaning it out (all 4 of us) and only keeping certain things of it that can be stored in our shed.  That will now help me financially with not having to pay for the monthly fee.  I'm going to donate the rest to teacher friends who are still teaching where I did before we moved.  I'll take it down when I go for my doctor's appointment and meet for lunch.

I hope you have a great day, today!  Talk with you later!

Julie  :)

Good Sunday afternoon.

I'm late getting out here today.  The SD came and got a truckload of her stuff from the breezeway this morning.  Still a bunch of stuff here.

It's gloomy and rainy here too.  The leaves are about half off the trees so far.  The yards are just a blaze of yellow color in our neighborhood.  We actually had a bit of snow mixed with rain yesterday and some parts of PA got several inches.

Hi Kim,

I've got a bad migraine today and just got on to do some things for a few minutes.  This one includes the nausea, too, so I've laid down a lot today.

I know some people up in Pennsylvania, who posted some pictures of snow they've had this weekend.  Wow!  That just seems surreal, in a way, to see that much already.

I did get your email.  I was going to respond to it this morning or afternoon, but my head hurts too much to concentrate too long.  I will definitely get a "novel" written back to you, if you know what I mean...... Hopefully tomorrow.

I'm glad SD came and got more stuff.  I know you'll be very glad when she gets ALL of it!

I hope your Sunday is going well; get a great night's sleep; and have a great Monday.

Julie  :)

It's Monday already?  I don't know what happened to the weekend.  I'm ready for another break at school.  Staring to burn out.

As hard as I try it seems my todo list is always bigger than my energy level.

Bob will be home tonight.  The little one is going to come here after trick or treating and spend the night so we can babysit tomorrow.  I have to go for my third hepatitis shot.  It's mandated we have these before we graduate.  I have to have a titor test done too because I have no record of my immunization shots as a kid and there is no where to get them.  I called the high school and they only kept the records back to 1984.

Julie hope you feel better today.  Same to you Dianna.

I have a little bit of homework to finish up this morning so I'm cutting this message short.  TTYL,

Kim

Hi Kim,

Weekends do go fast!  Wow, Bob is back already?  Time flew by didn't it.  I hope little one has a good night with you.  Are you off tomorrow, or is it your computer class?

I had to look up the titor test to see what that is.  That's kind of a pain having to have something like that now, including the hepatitus shot.  I had to have that one while in college.  I remember back when Randal was born.  I was in the wheelchair holding my newborn, being wheeled out to the car (at the hospital) and there was a nurse running down the hallway yelling my name and for those nurses to stop that wheelchair!!!  She caught up to me and said that I had to have the mmr shot (measles/mumps/rubella,) since there was no record of it.  She gave that shot right then!  People were standing around grinning.

My migraine is still with me today.  I hate it when one comes.  :(  How are your hands doing lately?  Have you been able to do anymore on the afghan?

I feel like I'm going in circles asking too many questions!  Anyway, hope you have a good productive day with school and a nice evening tonight with Bob.  I'm going to try and work on the email in a little bit.  Talk with you later!!

Julie  :)
